It's always bugged me, and I was wondering if there was any real reason for it.
MisterHealYoGirl2 votesWell, at the time of Kog'Maw's release, Rek'Sai, Kha'Zix, and Vel'Koz didn't exist, so the list is a lot shorter (just Mal, Cho, and Kassie), so the name trend was a lot less defined. Kog'Maw is also a bit different since he showed up before the other void beasties, in Icathia specifically rather than some generic portal. Anyway, just my musings.

He came to Icathia THROUGH a void portal, I'm pretty sure.
MisterHealYoGirl1 votesOh, definitely, but most of the others were called to the world much later; (Mal is the first void thing in this world, then Kog, then Kassie, then Cho, Kha and Velks in that order. Rek'Sai's date of emergence is unclear, but she may actually be the first (she was active before Shurima's fall). Most of the void creatures (Kha, Velks, Kassie, Mal, probably Rek'Sai) wandered in through random portals on their own before being enlisted into the League. Cho'Gath was deliberately summoned, and Kog'Maw's lore loosely implies that he was, as well, by the people of ancient Icathia. If I was forced to justify his title (which I don't like, by the way), I would say that the people of Icathia (the first to summon him) called what we call the Void The Abyss, and so their name for it carried over into his title.

He manifested in Runeterra.
As in, there was a lack of Koggy.
And then there wasn't.

And again, some titles like "Void Burrower" are just stupid. Maybe its trend that we shouldn't be pushing.
LordHippoman1 votesI think it's Kassadin or Cho'Gath's lore that mentions that the Void has many names depending on who's talking about it. The Abyss is probably just another name for it.
