Is it possible that, someday, will have a Void event?

Just like the Shurima and Bilgewater events we recently had, I would really like if there was a Void event.

On 2014 and 2015, we had, respectively:

Lots of Shurima and Bilgewater themed skins for non Shuriman and non Bilgewater champions
A new champion from Shurima () and a new champion from Bilgewater ()
A new champion that is NOT from Shurima but is related to that place () - just like there was a champion that is not from Bilgewater but is related to there ()
A new Shuriman themed game mode, and a Bilgewater themed map skin.
Lots of lore, videos, and texts released involving Shurima and Bilgewater, explaining their lore.

I would really like if something like those happened with the Void. Imagine if there was more lore being released for the Void for example. Because other than what we know from the lores of the Void champions, there is almost nothing about the Void.

They had one scheduled, but it got cancelled.

If anything I'd say there will be a Mount Targon event first.

you know, mount targon was never that distinct to me. it never really had any features or themes that pop out like Shurimas desert theme, Zaun's biopunk theme, and Bandle Cities cute little creature theme. To me its just a location where in Runeterra where some champions are from, I'm just saying.

I would rather see the 'Darkin' thing scrubbed and have them folded into one of the spirit categories if we're going low-bandwidth changes. A spirit of 'the art of war' would fit nicely with our spirit of glutenous desire.

To the topic at hand, I would love a Void event, but it would be hard to pull off in a way that feels compelling. In typical Lovecraftian style, when the Stars Are Right it's already too late for mortal kind.

For it to really be a thing, Riot would need to double down on the 'totally-not-Zerg from a spooky purple dimension' interpretation of the Void since an invading army of aliens is something that is can be beaten without suspending disbelief too much. But a bunch of eldritch abominations? Trying to kill something with violence that can arbitrarily decide that it doesn't feel like obeying Newton's Third Law is an effort in futility.

Void event needs to feature Malzahar and his cultists in major players, and deal with preventing whatever they intend to summon.

Yeah, that would work.

The other problem with a Void invasion aside from the necessity of zerg-Voidborn is that we already have the whole 'Shadow Isle invasion' that takes place on an annual basis.

Maybe a merry romp around Shurema with Malz and his buddies trying to find Rek to use her to tunnel a hole straight into the Void with Kass and his allies trying to interrupt the process? Maybe an excursion into the Void with Kass trying to recover his daughter? I would still love to see that hanging plot resolved.

We also had a Shadow Isles event (this is what started these types of events) which released Elise.

A Frejlord evemt which released Lissandra. So I would say it is not a question of will we bet but more of when will it jappen.

The thing about the Void is that it does not exist in the world of Runeterra. To put it simply it is on a different dimensional plane. Shurima and Bilgwater are both part of Runeterra, along with the shadow isles event that i believe happened 2nd season. There are other worlds in the universe Kayle Malphite Taric all come from different worlds. However nocturne comes from a different dimensional plane of nightmares. So it's safe to say that there may never be a Void event because of the extensive lore behind a completely different universe! Would still be cool though.

Kayle and Morgana's current Lore is questionable at Present and Likely they will be from Runterra just as Nasus and Renekton used to be otherworldly until thier lore retcon for Shirima.

Taric and Malphite will most likely be moved to mount Targon.

I think Riot has one job ahead of them: Make a new event for either Mount Targon or Void, and then make a new map for it. WHY OH WHY can't we have an awesome void-born boss or a Mountain Map. They could make a void map with cool void-ooze tubes that you can travel through similar to Bard or Rek'Sai tunnels? Or maybe a new concept for a groundbreaking MOBA Map? They could do a 3D Mount Targon that you can go top to bottom... I don't know... the possibilities are there!

You know, Mount Targon never really had any distinct features that really pop out to me. It didn't really have a theme or culture that pop out like Zaun's biopunk culture or Bilgewaters pirate culture. It just seems that Mount Targon is just a mountain, nothing really all that special. Though it may be just be me though.
