She came out years before some of the champions that have already been updated. Since she was scheduled for her update Ryze managed to receive two major updates. What's up with that?

The gap between that and the last piece of any meaningful lore she had was like 5 years.

You could argue that Yorick didn't receive attention for way longer until they finally got around giving him his rework.

She was named as a candidate for a visual update (that delayed her skins) in 2013. Now she will "most likely" receive her VGU in 2017. I mean, I wanted to buy skins for my favorite champion when I cared more about the game, especially when seeing all the new and shiny stuff other champions get. Having to wait for 3+ years for that seems a bit extreme.

And don't get me wrong, this is already me sucking it up, because I'm still waiting. I'm just having a laugh at the fact that every time any of those issues get brought up it all ends with the same stealth joke.

Yeah,but Eve did get skins after her release,even getting a skin in 2014. Sure nothing expensive,but at least something,unlike Yorick,who really never got anything aside from his VGU.

Yorick also had a pretty bland and terrible kit from conception and wasn't fun. He was also excessively oppressive when he was good, or below garbage when he was bad, which they had to keep him at to avoid problems. That is why he was reworked.

The reason for this is that Ryze was originally supposed to get one big update that would update his visuals and his gameplay,they then decided to scrap the visual update and only ship the gameplay one. When that gameplay update turned out to be a failure,they went back to give him a VGU,since they still had some stuff left from his previous visual update attempt. This allowed them to do Ryze in less than half the time that is normally required for a full VGU(note he took ~3 months to do,compare that to the upcoming warwick rework that will likely come out within the first 2 months of 2018,in which case it will have been in the works for 6-7 months)
