The So-Called "Visual Updates" and Animations
As we all know, Miss Fortune had her so-called "visual update" in 2015. This "visual update" polished her model up significantly, and brought the look of it into the modern era.
HOWEVER
What this update did not do speaks a lot more significantly, and shows some of the shittier standards that Riot is willing to stand behind. Following amazing (and actual) visual updates on the likes of Heimerdinger, Karthus, Sivir, Tristana, and Gangplank, a standard had been set for what is to be expected from Riot when they were going to bring a champion's visual and audio experience into the modern era, while mostly preserving a kit that didn't need a ton of updating. Miss Fortune, among others (Sona, Shen, Alistar, Maokai, Singed), is one the unlucky recipients of a so-called "visual update" that basically put brand new cushions on a rotting chair frame and was stated to be finished. Her actual model looks fantastic - but that's the extent. She still has the same tacky, clunky animations that she's had since she was introduced into the game, her dance has visible points where it begins, ends, and then restarts, and on top of it all, her vocals STILL reference summoners and are just antiquated and old, and reflect none of her characterization other than "slutty pirate." Miss Fortune, among these other champs, really needs the people at Riot to go back to them and finish this half-assed job they started, so that they can look, feel, and sound like the modern champs and full VGUs that keep making them feel and sound older and older with each release.
What REALLY pissed me off is that with the release of Star Guardian Miss Fortune, one of the "great cool features" they added to the skin was a new idle animation, pictured below.

What's incredibly insulting about this animation and the pitch that it's a new animation for the skin is that this is such a simple, non-specific animation that it should have been included a full animation overhaul of Miss Fortune's base model. Riot, I am calling you guys out on your shit here. You can't leave Miss Fortune's animations and vocals in a shitty spot like you did after you overhauled her model aesthetic, and then proceed to add in simple, modernized animations in her new skins and call it a feature. It's an animation she deserved when you "visually updated" her, and until you do a full pass on her animations, rigging, and vocals, you've simply left half assed work in the field. Don't leave her and these other champions to rot, especially since at least her and Sona are insanely popular champions. Go back and finish what you started, and give Miss Fortune the quality visual update she deserves, and don't insult us by modernizing her animations in her skins and calling it new.
