@Narrative team: Are Darkins a corrupted version of the golden boy's race in Leona's bio?

She fought and killed them as she had been taught until one day when young Leona encountered a golden-skinned boy with horns and bat-like wings wandering on the mountainside. [...] Eventually Leona reached the top of the mountain, breathless, exhausted, starved and stripped of all thought save punishing Diana. There, sitting on a rock at the top of the mountain was the same golden-skinned boy whose life she had spared as a child. — From Leona's bio

Darkins used to protect Shurima against the void, and seem to have been corrupted by it.

"Do I resemble you, abomination? Your form isn't my destiny…is it?" — Aatrox, toward voidborns

We also know that Darkins and Aspects have been part of some brotherhood, the latter apparently fighting the former, probably once Darkins went rogue.

"Hail Pantheon! How noble and proud he carries himself. Come, betrayer!" "Let me hear you cry of friendship! Let me hear you scream of brotherhood!" — Aatrox, toward Pantheon

Finally, there is the case of Justicar Aatrox. The splash art shows a golden Aatrox, on a mountainous landscape. Could it be an uncorrupted version of the Darkins, the normal version of their race, what should be called the Targonians (not the current inhabitants, the actual separate species)?

What if, the aspects were the ones that went rogue, and not the darkin? Would explain why Aatrox calls Panth a betrayer. And the aspects of targon haven't exactly proven themselves as nice, given how they're holding all the stars hostage for their control over Aurelion.
