Neekooooooooooooo

Man I hate when champions are released, but I guess Ill join the flood of posts related to her. I guess since everyone cares about her sexuality I'll get straight to the point:

The only problem I can see anyone having with Neeko's sexuality is that it isn't just irrelevant to her lore, it straight up contradicts it. Why would the tribe elders choose Neeko, a member that wouldn't reproduce to ensure the survival of their tribe, as the single individual they save? Literally almost anyone else would've been more suitable to be saved.

Personally, I don't care all that much. She doesn't look like a fun champion for me but I'm sure she'll find a place on the rift with other players. I don't follow lore religiously, although I think a lot of short stories and such are cool, but I'm in no way invested. I just like looking at things from a logical perspective.

TL;DR for you people who on scim:

To me, her sexuality is a flaw for her story and not a flaw to her character. There's no reason for her to be the chosen survivor of her tribe because she won't reproduce to keep the tribe from going extinct.

Is everyone just kinda. Ignoring the part where it states the tribe she seeks to build would be inclusive to everyone, regardless of if they're human, vastaya, or yordle? She wants to rebuild the Oovi-Kat culture, not the species.

So you're assuming that in the face of a massive catastrophe that the Elders had the luxury of time to go through all available youths of the village, pick two, and send them for to avoid death.

I mean, I do understand your point to a degree, but Neeko IS a shapeshifter. It doesn't matter any way or the other who or what she's interested in, because she's entirely capable of reproducing however she needs to. If she needs to make boy parts so she can mate with a female of her choosing to propagate her race, that's entirely a possibility. So I'm not entirely certain how I see the great problem you're trying to paint here. I mean, if she was of a stable, locked form race like Nami's race or Rengar's race, then yes, it's a problem. But she isn't. She can be anything she needs to be.

And all of this is assuming that her shapeshifting species didn't have other survivors who turned into birds or fish and made it to hiding or safety.

Its a shapeshifter that can transform into anyone, so i doubt that its a problem, assuming that they reproduce in the same way as humans (and i dont think so). But the problem is not the gender, the problem is that they only saved one vastayashai'rei, not two of them... Two of them can "create" a new vastayashai'rei, but if you mix only one vastayashai'rei with a human, then a Vastaya is created (and Vastayah "create" more Vastaya) not a vastayashai'rei.

Basically, like Ditto from pokemon, it can create eggs with any other pokemon regarless of the gender.

It wouldn't matter if she was straight. You can't breed two species together - even if you could because fantasy, genetics would either make the line extremely inbred or almost entirely human.

Lets not forget that she is a magical being not a human she might reproduce in a completely different way.

shes a magic chamelion shapeshifting furry and your concern is the ✨ realism ✨ of her reproducing?
