Why does Swain get a vgu then immidiatly get a new skin
When every other vgu every locks the champion out of getting a new akon for a long time. Look at yorick or Evelynn

This was an officially confirmed skin that was delayed for many years, it's not really a new skin

Last swain skin was in 2012. Eve got a skin in 2014. Yorick got arclight after his remake.
VGUs do not lock champions out of getting new skins AFTER their VGU, just before it. Some champs just take a while to have that perfect skin show up for them, while others have it fall in their lap. Swain's skin, Dragonmaster, had been teased FOREVER ago, canceled, and now they revived it due to the hype it has still received over the years. This skin was 100% to appease upset fans from many years ago, so it's pretty special.
But as for others, Taric got a new skin like a month after his VGU (Pool Party), Tristana and Sion both got skins within months, and Yorick got his FIRST SKIN EVER (his originals were launch skins) within a year. It'll happen for Urgot, Evelynn, and Galio. Just give it some time.
Didn't Yorick get Arclight Yorick like...the same month of his rework? Is he really a good example?

What was it like to develop a new skin alongside a full VGU for the first time? Was it because Swain hasn't received any skins in almost six years?
"Working on a new skin while the base form is still in development is pretty tough (launch skins for new Champs can be similar - it's easier now that Champions team has taken on launch skins again) - many changes to the base can trickle down and affect new skins in development, so it's a high cost of communication to keep everyone in the loop. Both the Swain update and Dragonmaster are old promises to players, so we wanted to join forces between Skins and Champions and deliver both at the same time."
Does this mean we can expect future VGU's to be accompanied by new skins too?
"This is a one-off. We typically see less interest in new skins right after an update because it feels like the updated champion just got a bunch of love and new skins already. This was a special case since Dragonmaster has been floating around as an idea for so long. :)"" -Riot SpaceNorth
