I hate this community for the amount of negatively that the new Varus lore has got

#Quick Note: Downvote me all you want, that's just the truth about you, you are nothing more than salty players who are never happy about anything.

I can guarantee that 90% of you people don't even play him or were aware of his existance before Riot did these changes so I don't know why you are complaining about someone that you most likely didn't even care about before.

I as a old Varus main, on the other hand I don't mind these changes i'm just glad that his lore is clear now. I on the other hand choose to thank Riot for the fact that they decided to create a music video and make a comic out of the other 100+ champions they could of chose.

So stop complaining and get over yourselves.

You don't know because they didn't make noise before.

We call it a silent majority. Maybe they did care, but it wasn't worth bringing up until they realized there was even an issue to discuss. League is many million strong after all. There will ALWAYS be plenty of people who will be upset.

Honestly I wouldn't have even been upset if he wasn't a somewhat established character already. If he was already a more than one entity I would have been ecstatic. But his ENTIRE CHARACTER was a family man (wife and child) who chose duty over family and used the blight to enact vengeance. As a former Varus main. If you really were one and if you cared about him as a character. If you had read his lore, you would be upset as well. We're entitled to be upset just like you're entitled to make shit tier posts. :) The point is that it's a neat idea and could have been made as a new character instead of the Zoe shitshow, not completely butcher and 180 his lore. Excuse me. Their*.

The fundamental issue all lore has at this point is that it's so susceptible to rewrites and retcons at seemingly any point that it's impossible to get invested into any of it. People defend a lot of the new lore when it's against expectations by saying that people's headcanons often have little basis which is entirely valid, but at the same time with champion lore potentially disappearing at any point there's a reason why headcanon is so rife. Your favourite character story can get thrown away at a moment's notice - the whole Dominion/Kalamanda plot line for example (Although it was endearing that they kept Kalamanda as a place for a nod to old lore fans)

While I respect the sheer amount of effort the lore team is putting in even if I don't like the results, at the end of the day it's not amounting to much and just confusing the fanbase even more. I'll be sticking to headcanon.

The problem is they killed a champion's lore. Something that me and I'm sure others already enjoyed. There was no reason to do it. It's that simple.

Secondly, for me, they wasted 1 out of the 5 only Darkin champions allowed on rune terra.

You can complain about how people are being negative, but you are missing the point on why that is. Negativity is disagreement.

Not everyone wants to be a happy little sheep that just follows the flock. Not ever wanting things to be better. Fuck you.

Honestly, after seeing the snippet thrown on the PBE (moreover, seeing that people were already outraged), I was 100% prepared to rage with them. It seemed just...poorly cobbled together and not at all engaging. Then this, THIS happened, what with the comics and the music video and the everything and I just...

Mmm. I thought I would hate it, and I really wanted to hate it at first, but I am here for it.

I'm totally down with the people calling it pigeonholing and pandering, totally agree that it could have possibly been better executed by rolling a new champion rather than up-ending some preexisting lore, but at the end of the day, I'm happy with it. It brought the spotlight back to my first ADC, the champion that got me hooked on the game ~~even though I was terrible with him for while~~, the one I've really been hoping would shine after all of the sparkly new things had their time.

Just really pleased that Varus is getting some love. Maybe more expressed hate on the boards specifically, but it's attention. "No publicity is bad publicity", I guess.

(I may just be gushing because I just had a double-pentakill game with dat boi (doze bois?), but whatever)

I mean, I was complaining about it since the short bios, and I'm still not happy with the thought of nautalis lore revamp. I'm not mad, just sad. I enjoyed his old lore, and I enjoy lore in general. I don't really have a problem with the new lore, just miss the old.one. most feedback I have seen is not unreasonable. Sorry.
