My take on Star Guardian this year. Surprise, I don't think it's good

I really don't get Riot at this point when it comes to skins. Arcade was vastly disappointing, PROJECT for the most part was...I don't even know how to describe that, the Elderwood and Infernal skins were getting me interested again but NOW RIOT HAS JUST LOST ME!

The choices for champs I can understand what they're trying to go for a bit. People have mentioned that because it's Ahri's old squad and they're Vastayans, so I can see why Xayah, Rakan and even Neeko are here. Zoe is....meh to me? I never really have much interest in her but why make her the villain? From what I can tell of her character, she's more bright, happy and fun. Why put her next skin into this evil dark Overload that could have easily gone to say Leblanc or Lissandra? Hell, why not make this an opportunity to give Kalista a skin as a fallen Star Guardian, or even Morgana? OR FUCK EVEN Urgot AS THE MAIN VILLAIN TO KILL THAT STUPID MEME ALREADY!

Though at this point, I might as well just give up on what champs Riot should've tried to use for upcoming skins. They obviously have their own system to try and make profit (which they seem to be leaning their agendas more towards lately) and I'm just some guy on the forums.

Then, you have the colors. OH GOD I hate what they did with the colors. Zoe, Xayah and Rakan (to an extent) are very deep in purple. More-so, I actually was thinking they were more in line with Dark Star than Star Guardians. To me, this is heavily missing the mark when you're having one skin appear as another skin, like how I thought PROJECT Akali was getting too close to Praetorian. Maybe Xayah looks better considering in the preview she has her effects going on, but I'm not holding any hopes up. Actually, all of the corrupted skins just feel like they have too much going on. It all feels too flashy and dark and whatnot that it just doesn't feel like SG to me.

It's a shame though because judging by their recalls, their pre-corrupted skins look decent (and I'm kind of hoping that Riot isn't going to make these like Leona's Legendary and try selling them because...money). Neeko is fine...I guess. She's got a good color, good outfit, only thing that really ruins it is that she's getting a prestige skin (YAY ANOTHER PRESTIGE SKIN THAT NOBODY ASKED FOR OR WANTS!)

Some have also mentioned that these new skins now also break the lore because Ez was suppose to be the first male Guardian. I guess they must of meant first male Guardian for their Squad and not existence. Maybe they'll be a retcon to fix this but if not, it'll just kind of show Riot as being incompetent and can't properly expand their own work without contradicting themselves.

Overall: I don't give a shit at this point. Riot has already disappointed me two times with these past "events", so seeing them fuck up SG now is just the final straw for me. I'm not really going to get excited for the next batch of skins anymore unless it really wows me or for a champ that desperately needs one. I'm just really sick of the skins Riot has been putting out recently. They don't feel like they hit their mark, feel a bit rushed or unfinished, and most are just to champs that Riot knows will make them some sort of profit. It's just depressing at this point.

But aren’t purple in lore the color of evil in the star Guardian universe. Also Zoe really isn’t a morally decent person. Plus the voice lines really show why riot went with the two love birds given Rakans narcism and xayayh’s bad attitude.

Zoe is a childishly psychopathic demigoddess who has literally vaporized dozens of mortal men who posed absolutely zero threat to her along with the village they were in with glee, and giddily enslaves a giant star dragon without remorse.
