...is just as bad as doing the opposite? Like, if you want to make a character gay, sure, go for it, but why pick a character who's already established to have a wife and children?
That's a valid frustration. It's also the best way you could have expressed it too, a lot of people go about it by complaining in a homophobic manner and they just start a shit-fight with people.
I agree with you, it would have been better if Riot had done this with another character or simply released a new character instead. But alas, they did it this way.
I'm actually a lot more upset about the fact that they took away the conviction with which Varus accepted the corruption. It was so much more tragic and cool before, when he knew just how evil it was but he freed it anyway, now he just did it because, "screw the prophecy, I'm in love!" Which is a lot less tragic and a lot less interesting of a reason than, "I know you're evil but I don't care."
