More or less, when can we expect to see Swain's visual update?

Swain is one of my favorite characters in the entire 100+ roster of this game!! Yet, I don't play him as much as one would expect, because his model looks very old.

So, one might imagine I'm very very curious about Swain's visual update.

To be honest, after seeing the stuff Riot did in 2017, I am also worried about Swain's visual update. (I'm thinking Galio-levels redesign, so he'd just feel like a different character..... :( )

Long story short, when can we expect to see Swain's VU?

Around January or febuary. VGU-teams try to release somehting once every 6 months and the team that works on swain released Urgot in july.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure you don't see a champion's visual update until they've been revealed. So that's in two months AT LEAST.

At least if there is not a leak like Urgot's. Urgot's reworked model was known alot earlier because of that and gave fuel for kit assumptions.

But it's unlikely that this is happening again.

I am excepting it the same time we got Warwick this year, so around late February for the latest. I believe Reav3's roadmap will confirm whether he will be a warlock like character or a strategic leader type character. (last I heard I think he was swaying toward the warlock fantasy)

I'm expecting January.

Probably February if not January. I don’t speak for Riot though.

I really hope not. That would mean that in 4 months we got one champion and one vgu. Maybe I'm just spoiled :p

No one said that there won't be anything until the VGU.

It's new champion > Swain actually. There will be a new champion coming out before Swain

I think what GreenLore means is that there tends to be one major release per month. By ‘major release’ I don’t necessarily mean a new champ/VGU, but a significant feature/addition to the game like a new map, event, game mode, etc.

To me champions and the vgus are the major releases. I just never cared about skins or events or "fun" game modes unless it's urf :x. The only other addition that excites me is new major main universe lore.

major releases pretty much means new champ,VGU or mid season update. With 5 teams who work on champs and VGUs and who try to release something every 6 months,we'll get ~10 releases from them every year(though since Kayn came out in july,it is possible that his team won't be able to release something this year again). Add to that 2 mid season updates and we'll have ~12 big releases every year.

This year we'll still get the midseason update and the next champion from the 2nd xayah&Rakanteam(the first X&R-team also did Ornn)

The big question is if Kayns team will be able to release their next project before or after the Swain VGU. After all we have to keep in mind that Swain might take a bit longer than usual, since he has 2 forms and his raven(thus more models) and Urgot was released after Kayn, which speaks for Kayns team likely being able to release something before the Swain VGU. But then again we don't know on what kind of champion they are working,so their next release could also come out after Swain.
