I was just wondering about release skins

Is there any reason why Orange/Red/Yellow are primarily used colors in Release Skins? It doesn't happen every single release of a champion, but I've noticed looking back at the last 15 or 20 champions that a pretty large number of them have orange/red/yellow themed skins, and Aurelion is about to be no different. **

**I don't have anything against the colors orange, red, or yellow. I'm just curious to know whether or not it's a coincidence that we see them used so often in release skins

In a lot of cases, the reds and oranges are the opposite of the base.

  • Kalista -> Blood Moon Kalista
  • Tahm Kench -> Master Chef Tahm Kench
  • Aurelion Sol -> Ashen Lord Aurelion Sol

We don't want the launch skin to be super close to the base, as we want to give players more of a choice in terms of what they'd like the new champion to look like. Having a launch skin with a similar color scheme to the base wouldn't be the best choice.

That said, it's not a rule of thumb to make an orange/red launch skin. :D

I wouldn't really say it is that common, unless you count stuff like high noon Jhin having a red bandana.

Overall I also think its more of a coincidence if anything, champs simply tend to get starter skins that fit their general theme/character very well.
