I'd like to see more champions made that are derived off of existing lore instead of new stories

i.e having an actual connection to one of the many subplots in the game

It'd be cool to see a champion or two being 'gifted' with a World Rune's power and give Ryze's story some actual substance as we see the context behind his need to grab them all.

It'd be nice to see something more obscure, too; like one of Mordekaiser's deathly prophets, carrying one of the stolen pieces of his skeleton and channeling immense dark magic with it.

Another Targonian or maybe a Void champ directly related to Targon would be neat, continue the story that we started with Aurelion and his visions into the Void.

Some more forest/nature champions that Ivern could be buddies with.

Another troll or Ursine champion so that Trundle and Volibear don't stick out like sore thumbs?

It'd be kind of nice to see all these sub-plots and the handful of different races get fleshed out a little bit more; maybe part of the reason I've not been so invested in it is the lack of advancement on some of the stories. I think new champions would be the best way to do it; gives players something tangible to connect the lore to.

I'm hoping for a piece of Ryze Zilean lore eventually. Zilean's ultimate tooltip says that he places a time rune on an ally. I suspect that Zilean has one of the World Runes. His time magic was very powerful, and had effects that Zilean didn't anticipate. I wouldn't be surprised if Zilean, because of the way he's trapped, couldn't give his time rune to Ryze even if he wanted to, but it would be fun to read their interaction.

I would like to see more lore that builds on previous lore, but the Foundations team hasn't even had the chance to get to every region since the Great Institute Retcon. Demacia's about to get a lot of lore, hopefully, but Noxus and Ionia still need theirs, and hopefully there'll also be Void and Bandle City events. (These could build on some things, though. Maybe the Ionia lore will build on Ivern's and Jhin's lores.)

Overall there was actually the case of Lissandra appearing in the lore long before she got released.(though she was always in disguise in the lore).

However in general I think it can be difficult to turn an already established character into a champion, simply because this lore-character was likely never intended to be a champion. Katarinas dad for example is highly requested, but the problem is that he is described as a master assassin and knife wielder, which is pretty much what Talon and Katarina do already,so its difficult to find a way to make him stand out compared to those 2. Of course its not impossible, but it is still more difficult.

As for introducing new champions that are connected to already existing storylines: Well thats a bit easier and honestly I agree that it would be nice to get champions that are linked to existing plot points. Though I guess the problem here is that they don't want to introduce a champion who can't stand on his own.Jayce suffered from this in the past(and even today to some extent),since his original lore pretty much only established him as viktors rival and nothing else.

And when it comes to races, then there is the question of champ diversity. Champs like Trundle,Alistar and Volibear have sadly not much that differentiates them from the rest of the roster except for their race(Alistars freaking title is "the minotaur"),so introducing a new champ that has the same race as them can be rather difficult(I'd say trundle here has the best chances to get another troll)

I still believe that Galio is powered by a World Rune.

It would be nice if they would stop changing the stories of champions. It doesnt make sense that they would change lore at all, they seem to be running out of new ideas and need to recycle old ones. i hate when they change the lore.

As we all know, League have many human champions, undead champions, void creatures champions, yordle champions, elemental champions and vastayan champions. But the only troll champion is Trundle, the question is why can this happen? Are League not interested in troll storyline, so they make it too simple? if it's not, why Trundle is the only one troll champion? There is no way frost troll is the only troll clan in such a big world. Are troll on the edge of extiction? As for Volibear, now they have Ornn.
