Are we ever going to see a champ that got a hold of one of the runes?

I remember that Ryze's story is he's trying to collect runes because they are really dangerous and shouldn't be lying about. Is riot ever going to build off of that by introducing someone who managed to get one for good or ill?

Well Brand's new intro paragraph alludes to such:

Once a tribesman of the icy Freljord named Kegan Rodhe, the creature known as Brand is a lesson in the temptation of greater power. Seeking one of the legendary World Runes, Kegan betrayed his companions and seized it for himself—and, in an instant, the man was no more. His soul burned away, his body a vessel of living flame, Brand now roams Valoran in search of other Runes, swearing revenge for wrongs he could never possibly have suffered in a dozen mortal lifetimes.

And then Zoe comments on world runes in "Meet Zoe":

As Zoe stepped out of reality, she wondered if the new crater would lead some mortals to find the World Rune that was nearby. The tall girl or that interesting boy might even be the ones to discover it.

It would probably be funny if they did, she decided.

So Ryze and Brand are both after runes and Targon seems to be very aware of World Runes and their importance, considering they sent their cosmic messenger girl to make one easier to find for the mortals in the area. The first point makes some sense since Brand and Ryze have been listed as rivals on the main League site for years, so there were likely always plans like this in mind, or at least some direction for brand involving World Runes, and the second point just raises more questions about Targon and how involved they actually are in Runeterra.

Riot seems really uninterested in actually saying something more about the blue man Ryze that carries a scroll full of nuclear bombs and is looking for more, that are around the whole planet, and they say even less about the guy on fire Brand that IS a nuclear bomb and is looking for more while incredibly pissed.

Even a bigger elephant in the room, is that Targon seems to know about them and where they are located as we discovered thanks to Zoe, but still they don't seem to be interested in collecting them to become stronger for when the fated void invasion starts, nor do they seem interested in teaching people how to use them to a good end in order to defend themselves or anything, but yeah, at this point i feel that Targon itself is a Blue Whale in the room.

Brand 's new lore states he got hold of one and the universe states he's associated with Lissandra and Ryze. Ryze's quest is to find all the times and I really hope that Lissandra has nothing to do with the runes. I think It would really dilute the quality of her story

who cares? Do you even really care about this, or you just killing time at work?

There is also a speculation that Lissandra is equipped with a rune.

One of the only things we can say happened because of Zoe’s lore is that a rune has just been uncovered. Even gave a hint of the boy finding it.

Just saying, I would expect that to come back up. Or Zoe’s lore becomes completely pointless.
