Regarding Qiyana and Sivir...

So I felt a need to point something out to people regarding the new champion. If you will note, the Chalicar is a cross shaped blade that is thrown. Qiyana's weapon is a hoop that she likely uses in melee combat. Their weapons are not the same, even remotely, so I don't understand why people keep bringing up Sivir when talking about Qiyana.

Look, its a round weapon, it MUST be the same.

I think there is a Soul Calibur character that uses a similar weapon. It reminds me more of that weapon than of Sivir's. Sivir's Chalicar is more like a big Chakram, a round throwing blade from certain Indian cultures I believe.

they are shaped differently and are used differently, but they both are inspired in chakrams so... yeah. you have a point tho, i mean, what if they have similar weapons? we already have big swords Aatrox Garen Riven Tryndamere big hammers Poppy Jayce katanas MasterYi Yasuo big axes Darius Sion double guns Lucian MissFortune chains Thresh Sylas and the list goes over and over...

Just look at their silhouettes, variety would help with team-fight readability and overall diversity of the champion roster. From a purely visual standpoint, We already have Sivir and Draven; average humanoids with spinning blades/disks. Feels like treading old ground.

People will always try to compare champions to one another as that's what happens here.

I feel the idea of the weapon is indeed similar but since Qiyana is an assassin, that should make her melee so the usage would be different. We don't even have an idea of what she does aside from control elements in some way. So they won't be the same either way

I think it also has to do with the color scheme as well. So when people see the oranges and teals and gold they think sivir which automatically links them to the Chalicar.
