So why-why exactly is this happening? Was it really necessary to intertwine their lores? For…? Fan service? The easy way out? What's going on?

So what exactly is going on? She is curious about the moon gets her in trouble frequently(Curious for science reasons this time) One day magically finds the cave that confirms her speculations about the sun and moon. Previously she was able to see it because of the magic she got with the climb. Now she just finds it one day. This super mysterious hidden cave. Okay. Happily, she returns “the sun and moon were not enemies after all!” Wait who said that? Then tells Leona, she shuts her down. But what are they hiding, she just everything with her two eyes but…What does she do?? Hmm up the mountain we go because she has to get the powers somehow Previously she was lured by the moon to climb up she was destined to be an aspect. She reaches the peak so does Leona. They fight, Diana before delivering the final blow, flees down the mountain. Wait this isn't fanfi-. She goes to the elders. They denounce her as a heretic, she gets angry ults and kills them. Previously she was sentenced to death and could not understand their rejection of the truth. Runs away with her half-remembered visions. Half, wait wasn't Leona just next to her, maybe... Oh well to Ionia she goes. From sense to nonsense…

Are you honestly surprised at the state of lore?

I almost missed this lore update because it wasn't announced anywhere.

Anyway I do think that it was necessary to update Leonas and Dianas lores as the previous ones were far too long and honestly gave pretty unclear images of their personalities.

With that being said I do feel like these new ones feel a bit bland. Leonas time in the Rakkor is only briefly mentioned at the beginning of her lore and now she was ready to climb fricking Mt.Targon to save Diana. While I think it is ok to deepen the connection between these 2 it also feels like Leonas whole character now revolves around Diana.

I also don't understand why Diana and Leona had to fight, I mean Diana wanted to bring Solari and Lunari together and Leona wanted to go back to the solari, which caused the 2 to argue and eventually fight. But wouldn't that be the first step in Dianas plan anyway? I could have understood it if Diana had planned to kill the Solari elders from the start, like if she planned to "destroy the old hierarchy to build a new one" or something like that, but here they basically argue and fight over nothing. Heck the first thing Diana does after she defeated Leona is going back to the solari and present herself to the elders, which was Leonas plan all along.

I knew they'd cut the stories down as the bios were way too long but what the fuck is this?

Why are Diana and Leona so intertwined from the start? Leona could be given benefit of the doubt in the old story because she became an Aspect after Diana and from her PoV, Dianas' attack on the Solari elders was unjustified. Now gifted with the knowledge of the Aspect she knows there is more to the Solari/Lunari conundrum SHE STILL REMAINS STUBBORN AND STAYS WITH THE SOLARI. Oh with caveat she's chasing Diana, but not for understanding, but because she wants to save her friend. Is she a religious zealot or NOT. Make up your mind Riot.

Also them both being made Aspects one after another after following each other up the mountain. Whats' up with that Diana becoming Aspect first, discovering the truth and then killing the Solari elders leads to Leona being left in the dark and having a justifiable hatred for Diana that is later alleviated when she herself becomes an Aspect and learns the bigger picture. Why fracture this core aspect? For the D E S T I N Y? Yeah right more like contrivance.

Why is all interaction and mention of Atreus omitted? Did they just never meet now? Was he not important enough to keep even for just a paragraph letting us know that they still had beef and that Leona was born into the Rakkor before being chosen by the Solari?

Why does it read EXACTLY like the Kayle and Morganas' conflict when before Leona and Diana had distinction because they WEREN'T close before they split? They just had two pieces of a puzzle that needed to put together now it's exactly like K&M. Sisterly bond, Difference in ideology, inevitable epic clash, collateral damage back home, one "sister" being harsh and resolute while the other is open and seeking answers.

I really hate it. Just cut the fat don't change it. If you are going to change it a t least make it good and not copy the same stupid sister rivalry template plastered all over Universe. Ashe Sejuani Kayle Morgana

This version of Diana's lore is unnecessary pandering to the complaints about the Aspect being "too" active in her old lore. In doing so it resulted in ripping the Aspect of the Moon's unique personality from the lore, one of the greatest differentiating points about the Aspects are... their Aspects.

Pantheon stole Atreus' body, Leona "saved" her Aspect forming a bond from childhood, Zoe was chosen based on her playful character, Taric's kind and caring nature was tested relentlessly. It reflects the kind of people these champions are meant to become when they received their powers, you cannot risk the Aspect for a dying religion dying on her way up the peak when you already decided on her based on her character hence Diana was guided to the peak by her Aspect.

Like all of the Solari faith, she underwent rigorous physical and religious training. However, unlike others, Diana was determined to understand why the Solari act the way they do, and the reasoning behind their beliefs. She spent her evenings digging through the libraries, devouring texts with only pale moonlight to read by. Paradoxically, this pursuit provided more questions than answers, and her teachers’ aphoristic replies did little to sate her inquisitive mind.

This was the only necessary change needed for Diana's lore in my opinion. To hint that Diana herself was interested in the Moon because she knew everything about the Solari. Oppose to her stumbling across the burnt books because of the Aspect. In fact it feels like some of her passion for the moon is missing compared to the old lore. Her friendship with Leona is nice but solely a writer's choice as it bears no impact on the rest of the lore.

Same with Leona, they should not have completely removed the Aspects from their lore.

so the whole fucking point of making Diana new (3rd one?) lore worse, boring, bland and shorter is to make her lesbian friend of Leona?

fuck the part where she learns about incoming darkness, fuck the part where she gets all the knowleadge of previous Moon aspects, fuck the part where she saw Targon, fuck the part where she meet that old woman that she decided to help her climb Mt. Targon, etc BUT HEY WE JUST MADE LEONA AND DIANA CLOSE FRIENDS NOW FROM THE START SO NOW YOU CAN SPAM EVEN MORE "THEY HEY ARE LESBIANS!!!!" crap

are you fucking stupid RIOT? her previous lore was good. It was amazing and I enjoyed the fact it was long and had lots of interesting parts

so instead of getting more Mt.Targon stories with Diana, Leona, etc or maybe even comics or animations you just mixed everything, redone their lore AGAIN and "HERE IT'S DONE... BACK TO IONIA, DEMACIA, ZAUN, etc comics, stories or animations"

and just as GreenLore said 2 posts above: what the fuck was that fight between Diana and Leona? there was no reason for it... there was no "epic/wholesome/sad/drama" moment it it... It was just stupid. And then Diana casually goes to Elders, get shit on and she just killed them (in in previous big lore update it was enraged Lunari spirits/ancestors that controlled her body to kill Elder and Diana was feeling bad, guilty for it since it's not what she wanted)
