Is Vilemaw an undead Voidborn?

I remember, a long time ago, when I posted a thread there, asked about what would happen if there was a Void portal on the Shadow Isles, and a user replied me with a theory he had about Vilemaw. I don't remember exactly what he said, but there are some evidences that Vilemaw is an undead Voidborn:

  1. Vilemaw is an insectoid creature, and most Voidborns are insectoid.
  2. Vilemaw is an epic monster from Twisted Treeline, just like the Baron Nashor and the Rift Herald are both epic monsters from Summoner's Rift, and both are Voidborns.
  3. In fact, when you kill Vilemaw, you gain a buff very similar to the one that the Baron Nashor gives.
  4. While Vilemaw doesn't have an apostrophe in his name, Baron Nashor and Rift Herald don't have apostrophes on their names either (although Nashor is spelled as "Na'Shor" during the spectator mode if one team kills it)
  5. It is possible that Vilemaw is actually from the same species as Kog'Maw, given that both have "Maw" on their name. Although Vilemaw and Kog'Maw do not look like each other, given that Kog'Maw is said to be just a larva, it is possible that Kog'Maw is actually the larva form of Vilemaw species.

It is just a theory, though. It is possible that Vilemaw has nothing to do with the Void at all, but it is interesting to see that he actually has many similarities with Void creatures.

This theory also doesn't explain how a Void creature managed to die and revive on the Shadow Isles as an undead.

I'm afraid you've missed the mark here. For two reasons, the first being that Spiders do not have a larval stage. MORE IMPORTANTLY As we all know, Kog'Maw pupates into a butterfly. http://i.imgur.com/ttOkysq.jpg

  1. I was that user.

  2. Ebonmaw was he first epic monster of Twisted Treeline... and he is a handsome dragon from zaun, so, being an epic monster doesnt means that you are from the Void.

  3. The Crest of Crushing Wrath is an original buff created by the awesome dragon of Zaun, Ebonmaw, who has no conections with the Void... giving buffs to people doesnt make you from the Void, or the Blue golem would be from the void as well.

  4. I had "Maw" in my name before it was cool. And im not from the void.

I think the "maw" in his name is merely a reference to ebonmaw, the previous epic monster on the TT.

Aside from that there isn't much hinting at a void connection,I mean the buff that vilemaw gives seems to be powered by the shadow isles, not by void energy and the similarity is probably due to gameplay-reasons.
