Project Ashe doesn't thematically make sense

Yes it is a good skin I love it too but take a look at my point before you downvote.

  1. why would you use a bow to shoot laser beams?
  2. even if we ignore rhe first issue, why would you make a human shape semi robot to do the mechanical movement of pulling the string? I am pretty sure human kinetic doesn't really do the best job of pulling a string.
  3. Since you are shooting laser beams what is the point of pulling the string? You don't need the physical reactional force of a string to shoot laser beams.
  4. Since you sre just shooting laser beams why not just make a robot(battlecast velkoz and xerath)? They can probably shoot stronger and more acxurate laser beams since they aren't liited by the human shape.

The point of most legendary skins, heck most skins, is to create an alternate theme. It is supposed to mix up the theme of the original so it feels new and fresh. Marauder wouldnt fit ashe's theme because she fights for peace.

At this point, I thought that the Project theme only applied to champions that carried blades...

Then Lucian, Ashe and Ekko happened.

It's safe to say that's no longer the case.

If they are taking people of great combat ability, making them cyborgs, and reprogramming them to fight for them(granted they broke free and are now trying to destroy them, but that is besides the point) which would make more sense? Programming an entirely new fighting style for them, which could bug out, or just designing a weapon that fits their area of expertise(for ashe it is a bow). Why give the other ones blades when a laser rifle would be more efficient?

Also, if you look at the project video from last year, it shows that the programming has them see the world as if it was back when they weren't cyborgs, with the enemies portrayed as an enemy they would of faced, and don't you think that Ashe suddenly holding a gun be a tip off that something is wrong?

Strange that that comment never comes up with Varus, but I think it's safe to assume they work the same way. According to the PBE flavor text she is using an EM Caster -> Her bow creates an arrow made of plasma/laser/hextech and she pulls it back against an Electromagnetic Field which propels the projectile upon release (kinda like a small railgun)

You do realize she is a cybory, not a robot? ^^ because her "bow" works with electromagnetism, which means you need to pull back the projectile. Yeah she could use a crossbow, but since they either used Ashe's body/memories to create this cyborg they sticked with her favourite weapon.

They want to use the combat experience / talents of the memories of Ashe, which is why they made a cyborg not a robot. Small skilled humanoid soldiers are sometimes better than giant mechs or "stupid" robots. That's just your assumption (BTW Battlecast is never implied to be the same AU as PROJECT)

It's a special type of laser beam that needs that exact design. That special type of laser beam is necessary for the exact circumstance Ashe was designed for.

She isn't a robot, just a cyborg(even if she is like 99% machine) and I think the project series is about using the combat experience of good fighters, which wouldn't work with a non-humanoid body(heck even the whole "pulling back the string can be explained that way, since thats how ashe learned to fire the bow,she would be worse if she had just to press a switch)

Why would buying a giant sword make Miss Fortune's bullets do more damage? I don't know.

Amen. Would have preferred project Jhin.

It's science fiction. Sometimes it doesn't have to make sense. If lasers are so easy, then why make melee weapons for them?

And for every convoluted answer to that, I'm sure there is one for Ashe's laser bow.
