@Riot: How about VO Updates?

Sure, visuals and gameplay updates are more needed in some cases, but a few times it's only the VO that needs adapting - > especially after certain lore changes.

This can come in two scopes:

1.) Full Upgrade. New Voice Actor, New taunts, new EVERYTHING. This takes a lot more ressources so it should be combined with a VGU.

and

2.) Additions: Some taunts, item interactions, CHAMPION SPECIFIC INTERACTION, etc, but all with the same voiceactor.

Some champs are completly fine with their gameplay and visual state, but their VO is so outdated. Diana has no lines for Taric, Pantheon or Aurelion Sol for example. Nami has no lines for Diana. VI HAS NO LINES FOR JINX. And so on and so on...

It shouldn't be too much work to get the voiceactor speak in ten more lines or so...

While from a player/fan point of view it would be ideal to have more flavor with complete champion interactions, theres the realization about the costs that could potential entail.

Every new champ has some form of relation to another character whether its them being some form of familia,(Zed,Shen) origin from the same locale (Targon,Demacia,Noxus), or share common themes (Soraka, Aur Sol). So that would mean for every new champ they'd have to rehire about 5+ profession VA for new lines. While it wouldn't be technically 'difficult' for them to say the lines, they most likely won't be doing it for free every month.

While I'm sure that riot will get additional lines for characters that will be coming ahead of time, theres only so far in the future that can be predicted. I'm pretty sure while they were working on the original Soraka they didn't go "Oh hey, dont forget to grab lines for the StarDust Dragon we'll be releasing 7 years in the future"

The big problem with VO is that they have to find(or simply rehire) a VA in every language and record all their lines in all of them(not to mention retranslate them),which is one of the reasons why they do VO-updates so rarely.

Also I think they clarified once that hiring a VA for just a few lines is pretty much a wasted effort,giving champions one big VO-update instead of small ones is more effective.
