But let me ask ya something...does it really detract from the story? Does it really harm the story in any way? The only way it would is if you think being gay is unnatural or strange, and somehow that out-of-the-ordinary aspect ruins the theme?

Idk, even if Riot did add it in to ride the diversity train it's not like it changes the core of Varus' character as a Darkin entity that was locked away until he took control of the person(s) that released him

I don't think most folks are upset about the gay couple.

Most folks are upset over Varus' story being completely changed. Varus chose his duty over his family, and as a result his family died. This loss pushed him to use the thing he had guarded to pursue his vengeance, as it was the only thing he had left.

New Varus is some star-struck lovers trying to save each other and bad mojo results.

I don't think I have seen any mention of "gay" until this thread. Maybe you are just making this a discussion about gayness when it isn't.

For real. I have seen MANY story complaints recently, including Varus. But no one has mentioned anything about being gay, heck I still don't know if he is considered gay because the comments on this thread are vague. People just don't like that the stories are changing. And it seems most of the stories are incomplete right now, so people really don't like the shortness of them.

Not everything is related to sexuality.

in his old lore he wasn't a confirmed darkin, just speculated. His old lore made sense and had legitimate reasoning for choosing the well.

New lore just seems odd how 2 lovers decide to jump into the well together. Why the well? Suicidal Pact (that's a fucking dark way to represent their love no?)? Why did they not just run away, the pin cushioned one seemed unable to walk alone, but he didn't appear to be in shock or threat of immediate death, he could still move his arm, and respond with cognitive motion...

It comes down to me that his original lore just makes more sense and is more believable than the video makes out to be with the new lore in mind, less questions and dives into the character motivations.

I am really not a fan of how the way the new darkin works, as a rank 7 Aatrox player, he is getting new voice lines soon, sooo i have to bear what hell they might cook up to change him, somehow aatrox apparently falls, while being the EXACT SAME LIKENESS currently as he was back then. Kayn gets a pass because it shows how it happens, blue pill, goodbye rhaast, red pill, goodbye kayne. How the fuck is it that Varus has taken over the body and souls of the 2 characters and they STILL have some semblance of ability to fight the darkin internally??? It just doesn't make sense to me, did he absorbe them or not?
