Imagine if you will, you come across a man on his stomach in an ally. He hears your footfalls, and begins a pained, efforted crawl to you. As he moves, you realize blood is pouring from an open wound, and his legs are broken severely. He won't live long, but he won't die peacefully. Wouldn't you think that performing a killing blow on this tortured, damaged man would be merciful compared to letting him bleed out and die?
