Or does it mean his rework will be so similar to the original that they'll just alter them a bit, the way they did with Pentakill Yorick?
I sure hope the new WW looks quite different from how he looks now.... but then one wonders why would they update his splash arts before his remodel.
Reav3 already confirmed he will get entirely new splashes.
He will be getting new splash arts. The replacements they did a few months-ago were for the splash art unification as those were the splash art for other regions.
I imagine it'll be like what happened with Tristana.
Warwick just got a brand new classic splash though. Like brand new, after the unification happened - as in, not his Chinese version ported over. So that's going to be scrapped now in lieu of his rework. Someone should have thought that through before going through all that effort to make that splash.
Every champion that has ever had some sort of small change, twitch, tristana and poppy all had their splash updated, warwick is indefinite, his stuff is old AF

Those were just temporary improvements till they finish the VGU, they said it multiple times when they started rolling in new splash arts for many champs.
His models are probably already finished or close to it so they're probably working on splashes right now
