What if the threat Swain has been preparing for is not the Void but Mordekaiser?

Could Mordekaiser be a bigger threat that the Void? He clearly gives no fucks about death since he will just have his army in the afterworld so even if a Voidborne was capable of killing him again, someone would just have to revive him again. Even if the Void managed to corrupt him, his will is so strong that we would probably just end up controlling his new Void powers like Kai'Sa. Dude looks unstoppable.

I thought it was pretty clear Swain was always preparing for Morde. They did a ton of Void stories which could be why people thought he was preparing for that, but it's clear from his interactions he knows of both the Shadow Isles and the threat of Mordekaiser himself. Hell, his teaser trailer ended with doors to his keep slamming shut, showing a Mordekaiser insignia with glowing eyes. The trailer sat on that image for a second and has a sinister tone before fading out, so right from the start it's clear he knows Morde is coming.

Honestly I always thought it was Morde that Swain was preparing for.

It would be really dumb if morde is that overpowered. To even win against the void.

Swain is probably aware of both threats but Mord is the one that needs his immediate focus. Lissandra is doing her best to deal with the massive breach up there in the north but Swain likely doesn't know how dire the situation is, and that's if he knows anything at all. I know he has a quote for it but in game quotes don't necessarily match up completely with the lore.

Noxus isn't in any immediate danger from the Void, maybe some outlying settlements are being ruined by Vel'Koz but nothing to be too concerned about when there's a pissed off undead warlord who has his sights set on reclaiming his kingdom.

I think Mordekaiser conquering the Void is a bit too much, but I think you're right. Swain (and possibly the Black Rose, may I add) is most likely preparing for Morde's return.
