I know there's a few dozen threads about the new HUD...
...but all of them are just whining about how the HUD is 100% worse because it changed. That's not exactly a safe place for more reserved opinions.
In my opinion, the HUD does improve some things. It shifted all the important information to one half of the screen, leaving more free space. A lot of the visuals on the new HUD are cleaner. It's less obtrusive than before, and you don't have to keep flicking your eyes to all sides of the screen to pay attention to all the information.
That said, some poor choices were made. Why was the mini-scoreboard moved from the top-right to the bottom right, but the clock and latency indicator left up there? Why was the character info window replaced with that micro-thing that you have to memorize to understand which stat is which? Why is the tab scoreboard smaller if it's still going to be dead-center and block your view anyway? And, am I just crazy hallucinating, or does the cooldown indicator briefly flash the "out of mana" symbol right when a spell comes off of cooldown, whether or not you're out of mana?
