@Riot Why ARE Karthus and Soraka Rivals?
When you think about it, it doesn't really make sense tbh. Despite the fact that their motifs completely contradict each other. I mean, there are some other rivalries that might make less sense (
and 
as an example), they still have a LITTLE bit of story to it (yes, it's in a "buff" in game, but STILL)

There hasn't been any actual indication lore-wise that Karthus and Soraka actually know each other, or that they've even met.

Neither character has any lines for each other, and considering Karthus is the one who had gotten a update the soonest (comparatively speaking), I find that rather odd.

despite them as "Rivals", both Soraka and Karthus have skins that match (Reaper), and lol have you SEEN Karthus and Soraka work together in a match? things get fuuuuuuun :P
Basically what I'm saying is that it doesn't make much sense that thematically, Soraka and Karthus are rivals beside the fact that their ults completely contradict each other. Should Soraka get a VU herself (I guess it's a possibility), and I'm not saying that she and Karthus can't be rivals, but can we at least get some explanation for it?
