It's almost been a year since this came out
And since then, we've now gotten our skins for Nunu, Shaco, Ivern, and now Zilean.
Can we now start discussing once again about champs that need a new skin for this year? I mean, we have A LOT of them who haven't gotten a skin in some time:
Over 1000 days -

And let's not forget certain champs
that
still
haven't
gotten
one
yet
after
their
launch
I get that Riot is a business and will tend to appeal to the higher/more popular crowd, but there's really only so much I can stand seeing
getting a new skin what feels like every (or every other) year/month/patch. It's tiring to see the same old group of champs continue to get regular supply of skins while others just get left in the dust. I don't ever feel like a champ should go over a certain point without a new skin if they can since it just feels like Riot wants to ignore that particular player base for as long as possible. Everyone wants a nice new skin for their champ every now and again, it's something to keep us invested in the game more (even if the game sucks right now).
Now, I don't want to discredit the work Riot did do with the skins they gave us. At the very least, these champs did get new skins and for the most part the majority of them were well done and received. What I'm trying to get at is while this is a pretty big accomplishment, the list is still large and continues to grow when you look at numbers. I just kind of wish Riot could focus a bit more on these champs a bit more to make their respective player bases' happy.
That said, I also want to bring up how certain skins are presented/given to us vs. our expectations. Let's roll back to
when he got his Dunkmaster skin last year. My memory is a bit shitty but does anyone else remember how disappointed people were with it? Remember hearing how the Ivern subreddit was super angry with how this skin turned out? Why was Ivern given this skin? Is it because he's tall, like a basketball player? This is something that I kind of fear moving forward with this topic if Riot wants to continue knocking the list out. They're just going to go with a certain theme that they think will work because the champ fits that theme (in some way), it's almost the last thing we would want/expect, and throw it at us to shut us up about "giving us a new skin". Ivern could of gotten something really creepy but cool, like a Void touched, or something that would feel more in character, like a Bob Ross reference.
I want to see these champs get really good skins. They haven't gotten any in a very long time so throwing one that's low quality/low effort after that amount of time feels insulting. It needs to feel impressive and deserving of the wait or at the very least something that people have requested for. Mord for example could get Battle Boss with actual new particle effects, recall, etc. Ornn could get Elderwood, since that seems to be a popular idea that's been around for a while. There are ideas that players would immediately pay for if Riot made them. They might not make as much as the popular guys, but they'll make something probably and keep the fans happy.
Idk, what do you guys think? Who do you feel Riot should work towards next from this list?
