Don't make Leona a serial (solar?) killer

Her short lore now includes "brings [...] death to others". Until now, she became who she was because she refused to kill the first time she was faced with the need for it. The Sun chose her for that reason too (maybe secretly tired of the feud with the moon?). I'm pretty sure she had to kill later on, but it still isn't an usual and acceptable event for her. Don't take that away. We want our lovely, powerful protector.

As someone who has nearly 2k games with Leona, this does bother me. She was always this kind protector in my mind, that saw killing as a last restort. In fact, when she was faced with thr choice of kill or be killed, she chose to die over her opponent. To me she was the shining becon of hope to the innocent, and killing was the farthest thing from her mind. The lore given right now is honestly not long enough for me to judge though... So I'll simply have to wait for thr long version

I'm actually going to disagree. The old Leona was, for lack of a better term, 'flawless'. She was the embodiment of light and mercy, a paragon of virtue. Problem is, that's all she was, and all she could ever be. She didn't really have any ways to move out of that role. You can't have a person like that do a heel-face-turn without an outright cataclysmic event. Her new role takes the core of the old, but shifts it in an important way. Hell, it outright says it. She's a templar. She's still a protector, but now it seems she's a defender of the Solari rather than a more general guardian. Her shield is to defend her faith, and her sword is to purge those who would stand against it. I mean, even her VOs reflect the new aspect as much as the old. "I will break their line." and "They will be sundered." Now she has as much opportunity to rise as to fall.

I always looked at leona like the gentle knight that would help anybody out of the kindess of her heart

But if needed to fight she would just leave them severely beaten up to teach a lesson, just not as far as killing

Whatever you expected your character to still be when the lore rework ends, prepare to be dissapointed. They'll make her a personified trope for the sake of "reaching a broader audience".

The only characters that improve from lore reworks are cases like Sion or Gangplank, that is, carton cutouts with no characters. At the very least you're getting a small/medium personality change. At worst, the fringe WMG interpretation will become the actual supported role, and fans of the old character can go eat shit, and "there'll still be material there for you to read it if you want to [paraphrased]", IE, go search third party websites for old lore.

She was always an avatar of hypocresy, so now i kind of dislike her less.

still she is not Diana (well except Proyect: leona, right there she is Diana)
