@ Ironstylus - Perfect example for what Taric's personalty should be

I know there was a lot of discussion about what Taric's personalty should be and I think I've found the perfect example.

While he looks nothing like Taric, Nyanta from Log Horizon has almost the exact personalty (and voice) I think of when I think of Taric.

  • He is a dandy.
  • Is all about protecting people.
  • Is always willing to help those who need it.
  • Has little interest in politics.
  • In the same vein he knows when to meddle and when not to.
  • Has a wealth of trivial, but relevant knowledge.
  • Loves the finer things in life, such as good food and nice clothes.
  • Concerned about his appearance.
  • Walks, talks and acts with a bit of a debonair/flamboyant flair.
  • Seriously his voice (at least in Japanese, not sure about English dub) has the same inflection and speech pattern as when I think of what Taric should sound like.
  • Very controlled in his personalty. He rarely lets anything fluster him.
  • Is fabulous.

can i upvote this infinitely? not only do i love it because of the log horizon reference/example (nyanta is my favourite character outta the anime), but a lot of the points you've made i definitely feel a similarly with taric. to expand on one, it isn't blatantly obvious at first because nyanta isn't one for over shows of emotion (similar to taric, at least definitely how i feel about him in game because he's very calm and controlled like you said), but once you actually get to know nyanta after a little while you get to understand his personality and how he shows what is important to him and what he cares about - i feel taric would act similarly off the rift and i'm sure there's ways to illustrate that in game.

also a million percent in agreement about the voice but i have to admit i am heavily a fan of taric's current VA - i'm hoping they can get the same VA or a similar one if they add in more lines with the rework and stuff.

and finally i think this is one of the best examples of 'fabulous' that i've come across in these various taric threads. i think a lot of people misunderstand and it seemed to me at first the response to it made people put off but it's not so much about making taric the stereotype of fabulous but still incorporating something that is incredibly important to his character without degrading the quality into something offensive/a mockery. like, the way it's done now with his current model/in game quotes are pretty great and at least to me feel authentic.

the way nyanta is fabulous is quite different than taric since obviously they're both from two completely different worlds but the aesthetic (for lack of a better word) is clearly there and can at least be a starting point to go up from.

I'm sorry to say this but you're completely wrong on what Taric's personality is, its just so obvious that Taric is in every sense of the 8-letter word that perfectly matches his character,skins,lore, and perspective with relative ease is:Taric FABULOUSTaric

As a fellow fan of log horizon, high five!

That's a very interesting take on Taric. While I agree it could work on Taric I think it will be a bit too different from Taric's current overly-relaxed demeanor. Granted this is simply my own interpretation but Taric seems to have more of a stoner (pun not intended) apathy than a natural calm. I would, however, love to see a personality similar to Nyanta make it's way into League.
