Traditional Trundle's new splash is the exact opposite of what Traditional Trundle is supposed to be

The new traditional Trundle splash art is not bad (it's a good looking piece of art) but is the exact opposite of what any Traditional Trundle should be. And it fails to grasp what players loved about the original Trundle.

The new splash art is:

  1. Sexy (very sexy)
  2. Shows Trundle in a regal pose of power
  3. Shows almost no rot

What was the original Trundle:

  1. An outcast and pariah
  2. Constantly rotting and regenerating (he needs to be at least a little gross and off-putting)
  3. Had a bemused somewhat biting demeanor to hide how much he felt betrayed by his kind

His new splash just doesn't capture anything about Traditional Trundle. It's like if you redid Braum's splash but got rid of his mustache.

Great splash but I agree entirely. It would be like Braum's splash having him in Darius' old pose standing on someone's throat :P

I agree with you, but one thing that is bugging me, you do people keep calling it a sexy pose,( he's a troll sitting on a thrown for god sakes) Other than that, you have to remember Trundle had those splash arts since his release, which means that they were based on how the old trundle looked, but with the change I feel that they are changing the story behind the skins too. Since he is now in this position of power, a commander of an army, a king among his kind, they want to give him a splash art that displays that rule and power.

The whole point of Traditional skins were supposed to be a gift to people who liked the old character they had to destroy in order to make a more complete Lore. There was nothing wrong with Old Trundle, except his lore was kind of a stand-alone story, didn't connect with any other lore really, so they 'killed' him, and made a new one that fit with other pieces of the lore. Changing his splash to fit the personality of new Trundle is so paradoxical of the point of him even having a Traditional skin.

Like the art, horribly dislike that it has anything to do with Traditional Trundle.

You're totally right. IMO, Original Trundle had the most interesting lore/backstory and was the best character of any of League's champions to date, and the rework completely destroyed any semblance of originality into his character, turning him into a generic, boring ice troll.

but that splash is so hot, i don't even care Riot already murdered Original Trundle so long ago, if they're going to bury him even deeper... at least they giving us something nice in return.

He looks like his traditional skin in game now. I'd see a problem if it wasn't represented in game, but it is now.
