Like, how was it written on Ekko's lore? Both Viktor and Jayce show great interest in his time tech.

So it's kinda like that:

"Oh this technology is amazing. I shall observe and study it, so I can steal, uhm, I mean RE-BUILD it for the potential it could have for the city, no, for the WORLD!"

"Oh this technology is amazing! Only a true genius could come up with something like that - a genius who would truly understand the goals of my Glorious Evolution! It's like a potential... friend? I NEED TO TALK WITH HIM! Wait... how does one make friends? thinks about this for several minutes Ah whatever, the most efficient approach should be enough. HENCHMEN, GO OUT AND BRING ME THAT BOY! ALIVE!"

I think it should be a running gag that Viktor is not actually evil, but misunderstandings like that are the reason everyone is scared of him.

This would be hilarious and fitting as both him and Jayce are socially inept. Only their appearances are judged in most cases.

Imagine the following situation: there is an old big building on the borde rof Piltover and Zaunthat should be torn down, but none wants to pay for it.

Jayce blows up up by accident during a random experiment, he's the hero helping the city.

Viktor sees that the building is a massive issue and that people's lives are in danger if it was to collapse uncontrolled, so he sends his army of acolythes to professionally tear it down, but all that is in the newspaper the next day is "ZAUNITE TERRORISM ON THE RISE, IT'S A MIRCALE NO ONE GOT HURT!"

According to idiot Viktor fanboys, yes. Then again they always will blame everything on Jayce. It doesn't even make sense for Jayce to steal Ekko tech. Jayce gives no hoot about appearances [see quick fix] and stealing his tech would only mean he wasn't smart enough to upstage

Exactly. Jayce has too much of an ego to even consider stealing someone else's work and market it as his own.

Improve upon it when given the opportunity? Gladly. But he needs to be given the opportunity.

Yeah like why would he DO that? If Jayce was all about appearance and only taking credit then why does he not pretend to be nicer? Why does everyone who meets him gets disappointed over the fact that he does not care about their idea of a hero? About their idea of a decent person?

I am one of those "idiot fanboys" as you've so nicely put it, and I don't blame Jayce for anything. In fact, I even dislike the way he was presented as overly arrogant in his new lore. But that same new lore, in Ekko's bio, puts it that way that Jayce would steal his tech.

First of all, I thought it was a good change to make him arrogant regarding his own intelligence. To make him impatient. He was too much of a Gary Stu before.

Not at all. And I already explained why it wouldn't make sense.

But even before this new Jayce lore, Viktor fanboys always blamed everything on Jayce. It's all Jayce's fault. No way Viktor can be even a little evil.

Have to be careful here, because you could stray very close, if not into, saturday cartoon villain territory. A personal thought I had about Viktor's "low-level enforcers" is that perhaps they are children? Viktor gives kid members of the Evolution that are around Ekko's age really really cool augments and tells them to befriend the boy persuade him to join the Evolution, or failing that, bring him back by force. Just a thought that occurred to me while trying to think of why Viktor would try to "persuade" Ekko with augmented low-level enforcers.

Well, the joke is that people percieve him as a cartoonish villain when he's actully trying to be a good guy - despite having neither the appearance nor the methods for being seen as one. And the worst part: Viktor is one of the most intelligent scientists on the planet, but he doesn't realize why everyone thinks he's a villain, because he's extremly lacking in emotional intelligence (common with geniuses of that sort btw).

And what's wrong about Viktor sending out thugs? EVERYONE in Zaun uses hired thugs for everything: delivery of goods, messages, bodyguard-services, bounty hunting, helping your grandma cross the street... the number one human ressource in Zaun is thugs. Although, the one's hired by Victor are most likely his aspiring acolythes... this is not a matter of being a cartoonish villain, but about zaunite culture.

Also Viktor would not leave the persuasion of such a genius to anyone else but himself. He's confident that once he has talked with Ekko, he'd join him - even if the method of getting him there might be a bit rough. However, it is the only reliable method that he knows.

The problem I have here is not that Viktor is sending his enforcers "to encourage the boy to join his services.", but the fact that it states specifically that he "outfitted several of his low-level enforcers with powerful enhancements". Why would he upgrade specifically lower tier acolytes with powerful augments? If human thugs are a plentiful resource wouldn't it be better to get better thugs to put your augments (that are much scarcer) onto? Or is this a case of Ekko simply believing that they are "low-level enforcers"?

I don't have a problem with Viktor sending people out to collect Ekko, but I do have a problem with Viktor sending Jessie and James to go catch Pikachu.

If Viktor is perceived by other people in the league universe as a saturday villain I don't have a problem, but if Viktor is actually doing saturday villain things like massively underestimating the capabilities of a kid that built a time machine to outwit your low-level enforcers, then I have a serious problem.

I think Viktor is displaying that his technology is so good that he can improve even the lowest thugs, and make Ekko think about the opportunity to work with a man who can afford to put awesome inventions on disposable people.

Ekko would be angered/disappointed by anyone who viewed other Zaunites as disposable
Ekko doesn't look at augmentation fondly

In addition, Viktor himself looking at people as disposable would not only go against many of Viktor's fans views, but also the little we've been told about Viktor from Jayce's lore (Pre them fighting).

I always thought the problem with viktor was that his thought process is done by binary. One or zero, do or dont. Thats why he always goes to the most radical comclusions that inflate to hillarious proportions

It's not really do or don't but... there is the most efficient way to do something, and then there is everything else, also seen as "completly irrelevant". The thing is, that the most efficient way to do something is not always the best...
