Can We Get Started On a More Frequently Updated Main Story?
While I can agree that the lore retcon needed to happen, I feel the sheer number of backstories that need to be updated has set the Story team behind on beginning an actual main story for the universe of League of Legends. As more and more champions are updated in League of Legends, giving each more and more lore that sits in a closet for a year or two until they receive another short update or two. While most champions have a baseline identity (such as Walking Mountain, Undead Juggernaut, and Spirit of Revenge), they don't have much past that. I feel my love for characters slowly diminish as they sit unmoving in the lore for years, gathering dust until they received a brief spotlight when they or one of their friends/enemies receives an update. All League of Legends champions just seem SO static that it makes it hard to love their characters for more than a year or even sometimes a few months. There was once a MOBA that actually performed something like this called Dawngate (a beautiful MOBA that became a victim of EA). Fairly often, it would publish a comic that focused on a number of characters in the lore, allowing them to tell their game's story and give their characters a flexible, developing personality and story. Example: http://orig02.deviantart.net/325f/f/2014/101/7/9/the_dawngate_chronicles___page_1_by_nicholaskole-d7dztz5.jpg It was just a short comic each weak or so that developed the stories of a few characters. It made me really begin to develop a connection/feeling for each character. Every time they began to develop a character's story, I felt the desire to play them with their cool and fun personalities. Could League do something like this?
