[Opinion] Urgot's rework is dope, but...

I miss the champion that I personally identified with. The creature that had been created and assembled beyond his will. I miss the Urgot with sever existential agony. I know that sounds weird, but there are so many champions with the "strong warrior, killed thousands, taken down by his own side, etc.) lore that I kind of think Urgot's story became the victim of a lot of other LoL champion reworks. Where's the underdog? Where's the humanity in the characters? I know they aren't all human, but I miss the correlation between the issues the champions faced in their world and the issues we face in ours. This is all just a personal opinion, but I really liked Urgot's attitude towards existing and yet he still carried on to do what he was created to do.

I don't see this at all. Urgot seemed to enjoy the pain he received and the pain he inflicted on others even more. He was not a victim of endless reanimation, he gladly accepted it. And in the League he could enjoy the carnage of killing over and over again without end. The only reason he even joined was so he could kill Garen. Nowhere in his old lore was he saddened by his extended lifespan.

His story now has direction, he was betrayed by Noxus. Not the ideals he holds dear, but the men who pretend to follow them. So, instead of letting rules control him again, he has submitted to chaos. Survival of the fittest. And if someone disagrees, they can always challenge him, well whatever is left of him anyway.

Where's the humanity in old Urgots character?

He was a monstrosity that was brought back from the dead and purely survived on the desire for vengeance even though his "life" was extremely painful.

And heck in some ways we still have these aspects in Sions character(which is most likely the reason why Urgots character changed so much)

I miss the voice filter. It doesn't sound as mechanical as it used to.

I will concede - The anarchy thing in Urgot's new lore is... weird.

I mean, that's kind of what new Yorick's character theme is now.

Urgot is my favorite champion in the game, back into S2 when I was starting to search for mains and wandered in the likes of malphite, kayle or amumu, the one that immediatly caught my eyes was Urgot.

I always loved "ugly looser" character, not for the hype of "WOW I LOVE SOMEONE WHO IS NOT POPULAR I AM SO COOL AND SMART AND UNDERGROUND" but because I just always related to them. The character that failed. That nobody really cared about but still was a twisted piece of sht because of the sht in his life.

Urgot was someone tortured by his state but also deeply twisted, he was the kind of vilain the hero would beat and goes on but he always felt like a bowl of full raging and desesperate emotions.

Problem with old urgot was that he has no progression over than loosing/dying, because let's face it, he was 'done' in how far he could get and Killing garen wouldn't make great sense for the general story.

New urgot is this same idea of grotesque (spider like body, broken respiratory system, scar tatoo) fearful individual, except his torment kinda changed from being "his doom made his future path". Old Urgot always felt strong mentally for me because he didn't die and still wanted to fight, to kill, to exact the pain and rage.

New Urgot is like, for me, this Urgot who found his way in the disaster and pain his life became, he lost his body, his mind almost and his beliefs. But he saw a purpose in it, he saw a light. A freaking twisted emotionless sociopathic light, but one he truly believe.

Urgot way is so powerful in a way. Strength is in the Survivor. Life is struggle and pain, if you survived it, you proved your Worth. He was ended by corruption, ambition, power but for him, all of that look meanlingless because he SURVIVED.

He certainly still despise life, seing the brutal quote he make when Killing someone in the game (he doesn't care about killing Annie), but he found a meaning in it. He still doesn't care to die, he try to prove that survival of the fittest is the true way. His way.

F*ck I love urgot ._____.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong this wasn’t the utter assassination of a personality like we saw with Poppy where they have the exact opposite character archetype. But I am a little sad with the direction they took Urgot. He was the second hero I ever bought because he was a depressing self loathing fat disgusting slob. He seemed designed exactly the opposite of every other champion. Where most were either handsome or awesome. He was just gross and morose. Costly shouting that he wants to die.

New one tried to make him “awesome” which, fine. They succeeded. But that’s not the character I bought.

Stop searching humanity for every champion. Some champions are just evil and monster.

It is ridiculous that everyone wants his main champion to be at least grey.

"Oh no, Vel'Koz kills for science, he is not evil!!!" Same for Joseph Mengele...

"Karthus kills people because he thinks it is the only right thing for the living! He thinks our goodness! He is not evil!"

Just stop please. If you are having trouble to judge a character's alignment, think them as real life people. Would you consider Karthus evil if he started create a massacre in your town because "I'm Karthus I'm helping"? YES.
