I'd love to see a "pure" Blessed Isles champion

As in, a champion born on the Isles that escaped the Ruination before it could transform or affect them (unlike Thresh/Yorick).

Kalista's lore mentions a "distant white city" at the heart of the Isles; what would someone born and raised there have looked like? How would they dress, or what would their abilities be like? Maybe an old, barefoot monk with ancient magic? Or perhaps a white-hooded priestess with protective spells? I don't know, but I'd love to see a champion from this mysterious place, even if the Ruination happened so long ago.

I like this idea.

They could have a small disdain for kalista since kalista brought her king to the isles and caused this.

Or since theyre described as benevolent, they could show sympathy as Kalista was tricked, forced to take him on pain of death, then run through with a lance.

True we could go this route. But remember the people of the blessed isles gave kalista one damn rule, One! Share her knowledge with no one else. She betrayed them of the one simple rule they gave her in exchange for what might as well been a cure from the heavens. She doomed possibly the most amazing civilization in all of runeterra by breaking the rule they set forth for her.

No matter how benevolent one is that to me would sour someone. It is sorta like Adam and Eve from the Bible. God - "Don't eat the apples from this tree and all is well." Eve - "damn those apples look good, im going to try one."

One rule and the dumb girl damned them all.

i was working on designing a fanchamp with some friends awhile back and we actually had conceptuallized something like this!

she was a yordle who went to the blessed isles before they got destroyed and was made immune to the ruination. she had a lot of shaman-y, natural magic. the project got discontinued but i still love the concept

Not sure why you were downvoted but yes, making it a yordle champ would be an excellent way of explaining the time gap between the events of the Ruination and the current era, seeing as they're long-lived/immortal (though personally I'd prefer a human champ) :)

Yorick kind of makes notes in his VO that he's the last of his kind. I don't think anyone is left alive who was an original inhabitant of the Isles that isn't him or Maokai.

I think it's unlikely for there to be any survivors left yeah, though anything's possible, and Yorick could always be mistaken (he is human after all, and wasn't there to witness the actual incident between the Ruined King and the island guardians, if that counts for anything).

I have always been under the impression that the blessed isles was like a reverse Demacia, very into magic to the point that almost everyone had the gift in some way shape or form and pretty much every building and forest was enchanted with the arcane which explains why the entire isle became corrupt once the first domino tipped the magical network let it spread until it was halted by the ocean.

Part of me likes to think that the blessed isles were where the summoners of old lived and that jax is one of the few who were strong enough to partially resist the curse with the help of his trusty cold iron lamp post.

Jax has a short story where it is confirmed he is from Icathica (spelling), which we know has connections to the void and is close to Sharima, and that he is in some way tainted, corrupted or affected by the Void which is why he's completely covered. Sorry for destroying your idea, but go read the story cause it's pretty cool.

umm....if I remember correctly....that "distant white city" was the eventual epicenter of the ruination. >.> And between the people of the Blessed Isles not really leaving their island to mingle with the war-torn continent that is Valoran and the Ruination being smack-dab in the middle of their home, I highly doubt any pure islander escaped. Even if there WAS a person who wasn't on the island at the time, it has been many hundreds of years since the event. So long in fact that the original island is long forgotten by most of Runeterra. You'd be lucky to even find a passing mention of such a place in old texts at this point.

I'm sure there must be some way to make the champion work in spite of the time gap -- perhaps they were carrying some sort of sacred artifact with them (of which the Blessed Isles was known to have many of) that allowed this champion eternal life? Or perhaps they're a yordle, or some other long-lasting/immortal species? I don't know, I just think it'd be really cool to see an OG Blessed Isles character that hasn't gone dark to give us a better glimpse into what that place was like in its prime, as well as its culture.

Im pretty sure that Maokai is from blessed isles. A cool champion would be one of the monks that protected Mordekaiser skull underground but i dont remember if that's old or new lore

Maokai has no lore right now he used to be from the Twisted Tree line map, but since the League of Legends was retconned he has no place of origin.

Maokai has a 100% updated lore right now. He is the nature spirit responsible for populating the Blessed Isles with life. He survived the Ruination and is trying to restore the Isles to life, but his constant ordeals have made him vengeful and spiteful, regressing from the benevolent spirit that he once was.

No Twisted Treeline in game is a stage recreation. And its where maokai orogonally came from before, as i am just finding out they changed to be from the blessed isles.

The Blessed Isles seems very moon based to me. The celestial vault page on the Universe tab says that it was unlocked "revelations of the Lunatropic Demisphere". A demisphere is a half sphere, essentially, and while it doesn't seem like lunatropic is a thing, heliotropism is. What that is, is the movement of plants, to better face the sun. So logically, a Lunatropic Demisphere would be a half sphere that rotates to face the moon.

Well my point is there have been new champions with generally low mobility (ASol and Taliyah have them locked behind some type of wall or long CD, Xayah's only 'mobility' is her ult which gives her invincibility not so much mobility, and Bard has a gate but that's about it otherwise.)

I had a concept where a priestess from the Blessed Isles who died had her soul bound to a young girl. Porqa and Temperance. Porqa was cjosen to continue their rituals. And could set up soul cairns, for Temperance to cast spells through, for healing, shielding and warding. And when Porqa died her passive let you run around the map as temperance invisible and untargetable, acting as a mobile ward.

Maokai was affected by the Ruination though, now just a shadow of what he once was (even if he was saved by the life-giving waters within). Also I'm referencing a human champion that was born within the culture of the Blessed Isles and its monks/guardians, not an elemental.
