I know why IronStylus left the development of this videogame.

If I wanted generic mmorpg cat-eared samefaced waifus/bois, I wouldn't play League.

I can't even tell the difference between Xayah and Ahri.

I can't get over how UGLY they look.

I think this is why people like IronStylus left.

You know, you can keep your criticism for yourself instead of making multiple posts about how bad YOU think they look. You can think they look bad, but that doesn't mean everyone thinks they look bad.

not that i dont agree but you've made at least 10 threads about it since yesterday

i think one would get your point across, lol

The reason why they exist and why they follow this route is because that's what the majority wants and thats what is popular worldwide and profitable for the market. If you find them ugly that's your opinion but the majority wants these things, that's how businesses work.

If you can't tell the difference between Xayah and Ahri, I'm afraid that's a you problem. :/

You are correct, Xayah and Ahri in fact do share similar facial features, but this also the case in real life, if 2 persons, same skin colour, same facial features stood next to each other they could be mistaken for relatives. This is only a flaw (to you) because it is a video game and you expect everyone to be completely different, 100 different noses and lips for 100 persons. Aside from that point it is clear that you don't like them because 'cat-ears' is an anime trope. Nothing is wrong with not liking them because it is an over used trope, or because they resemble anime characters, but they are just as uniquely designed as most other characters in the game.

To be fair, i wasn't exactly crazy for Xayah's look as well, but now that i had a chance to look at her in-game model and hear at her voiceover i can say that she has a pretty good characterization. Honestly i expected worse but i was pleasantly surprised this time, not to mention Xayah and Rakan probably have the most good looking and fluid animations to date.

I don't understand why you're being so needlessly aggressive over this subject. If you don't like the new Champions, that's fine. There are over a hundred other characters you can play as that aren't, as you're implying, "generic anime/furry" creatures. Why are you up in arms over two of them when there's an entire cast that doesn't pander to the weaboos or whichever group you're attacking. Actually, the only really "anime" ones in this entire game are Ahri and Yasuo. And even then, these aren't just East Asian cartoon tropes; they're based on things that go farther, to which ignoring is pretty nescient. For example, Ahri's based on the East Asian folktale (and I use the broad term East Asian because it's not exclusively Japanese; you can find stories of it from places like China and Korea as well) about the nine-tailed fox. That story and archetype was long conceived even before the conception of the word "anime"; it's just that, like most stories, it's been used and re-interpreted by further generations. Japanese cartoonist have simply re-used it because of its cultural significance and recognition, for better or for worse.

I will say I'm not a fan of "anime" either. The general artstyle (namely the small head with eyes that take up nearly 50% of the face) just doesn't appeal to me. However, I'm not going to be arrogant enough to say anything like "I hate anime and anything that remotely reminds me of it should burn in the ground!". I recognize it's a broad style that encompasses more than just one particular aesthetic, and some animes are indeed interesting just based on story or characters alone. To be so against such a broad term is like saying "I hate music" based solely on the fact that American pop music stinks, ignoring the fact that there are countless other alternatives to explore and enjoy.

And the reason people are disagreeing with you so egregiously is because of the way you're presenting your opinions. Again, if you personally dislike, or even loathe, the new character designs then that's completely acceptable. You have your own tastes and you're entitled to an opinion. However there are better, more constructive ways of voicing your criticism rather than restating the same angry, shallow, and ignorant comment over and over again. For example, if you don't find them unique because they're not animalistic enough, then there's a difference between saying "They're just humans with cat ears! Also, fuck you if you don't agree!" versus "When I look at Xayah and Rakan, I don't get the sense they're these chimeric creatures that the vastaya are described as. Instead, they only look like humans in animal costumes. I think the visual designers could've pushed the more inhuman qualities more, such as giving them beaks or less human proportions/postures. Simply trading out human ears for cat ears just doesn't make them look distinct enough. Imagine if they had a more theropod-like design - think t.rex or velociraptor. That would've given them a more distinct shape plus really hammer in that these creatures aren't actually regular humans." Do you see the difference between these two statements? Besides length, the second one goes more into depth as to why their designs aren't working for the person, as well as offer an idea of what may make them better. The first one is just a middle-finger that seems to come from unwarranted aggression. If you want people to actually agree with you, you have to present your statements with a bit of fairness and insight.

Wow! You know, one post is enough. No need to make another that basically says the exact same thing.
