If Veigar was competent, he'd be one of the most dangerous characters on Runeterra. Thankfully he isn't, he's just a laughing stock. I like to imagine the people of Bandle City play along with Veigar and let him do his mischief while they go about their business and humor him.

In terms of overall competence Veigar is one of the least threatening mages, and in terms of raw power he's fairly strong, though still likely much weaker than the likes of Xerath.

Id put him a bit lesser than Syndra personally. He seems very powerful, but syndra does near nothing but grow her power, or thats my impression.

His magic is clearly stronger than Xerath's, however Xerath apparently can not be destroyed where as Veigar can (I'd assume).

You didn't see anything about Xerath's power, me neither. But he has telekinetic powers and extremely powerful arcane energy.

I dont think Veigar could push Renekton to madness like Xerath.

Pushing Renekton to madness was not a product of magic, it was due being trapped in the same place with Xerath for millions of year (or thousands at least)

Just imagine being trapped in a cage with the only a crazy person that you hate... for 100 years. Anyone whould go mad after that.

Gods... Renekton would me even more mad if he were trapped with Veigar, who is already insane.

Veigar couldn't push Renekton to madness because Renekton would eat him in breakfast. Renekton is may be the weakest ascended, but he is far superior than any mortal being in LoL. (Expect something like voidborns)

I know, but I dont think the source of Renekton's madness is just Xerath's being crazy. It should also be magic.

Xerath doesn't have any kind of magic of mind control, illusions, induce madness or anything like that... his magic is only to deal physical damage (and by that i mean "not mental damage"... unlike... LeBlanc who can use illusions that could be used in order to cause madness to others or Fiddlestick that can cause fear, or Nocturne who can directly "attack" your subconscious in dreams).

It would make no sense if Xerath magically made Renekton mad, because magic.

At least, he can stun people with '' shocking orb '' in game-wise, which means he has high chance to have '' mind powers ''. Xerath is not about pure destruction, he can use his telekinetic powers to use for his goodness.

Exactly, he is a good manipulator, but that is not magic.

You can't say it's not his magic, we dont know it. If it went over his ascension, he may has extreme manipulating power? I mean, we're talking about an ascended's going madness. Not something a basic entity, it's a little bit too high to go madness like a child.

Renekton, Nasus, Azir and Xerath were humans before the ascension... their bodies may be different, but their mind still human, The pen is mightier than the sword and words can be used to manipulate power better than magic. Just because their bodies changed and they gained super powers, it doesnt mean that their minds are more resistant to words... Xerath told Renekton that Nasus betrayed him until he started to believe those words after a mileania of being alone with Xerath in that place.

Xerath was good at manipulating people before his ascension, normal people can be good at manipulating people, it doesnt mean that they are mages... Even Hitler was a good at manipulating the masses, but he wasn't a warlock with magical powers that mind controlled everyone.

The magical abilities of Xerath had never referenced "mind manipulation" or anything like that, he just shoots lighting-bolts, bolts that can destroy anything with ease, but not "mind control" or something similar.

I think you need to re-read what he's saying

It doesn't take magic to drive someone bonkers if you're trapped with someone you hate for millennia, anybody will go crazy in that situation. Xerath's magic has never been shown to extend beyond destructive force and thus there's no grounds for it.

Chances are Veigar is probably mostly hostile to Noxians due to his lore. IMO if you're not from Noxus then he's probably just going to give you a weird look and not bother too much with you unless you make a short joke.

Now, if you're a Noxian chances are there might be a smoldering crater where you're standing in a second and he will unleash quite a bit of pent up rage and/or anger at you.

Veig should just shush and let Lulu take him home.

Id say he would probably be on par with Syndra and similar top mortal mages if he was actually serious. While he is powerful, he seems too silly by "playing evil" to use his full extent. And due to that, he is probably one of the weaker mages.

It would be similar to that big guy at school that could probably smash someone's face in but is gentle and as harmless as a fly. He is indeed capable of it, but can't or won't.

I put him at a tier directly below Syndra, who is directly below Xerath, who is barely below Kindred, who is directly below Bard.
