Realistically, I 'unno why people spend their tokens before the event is over in the first place, unless you're a really die-hard Riven main or get one of the Chromas.

This was even earlier and clearly states Qiyana will receive a Prestige Skin unlocked by Event Tokens, not PP. Using process of elimination and a bit of deduction, it was obvious it would be for Worlds. (Lee Sin's skin and associated Prestige Edition will probably be for Snowdown this year, and everything else from the article has been revealed.)
I didn't know it was for the event honestly, not everyone combs through all the sites like some ppl do. But I don't play riven or qiyana so I spent it on the pp points. Just waiting to see what to spend it on before they expire, which BTW is completely stupid on their part. After they expire I won't be buying any, strictly getting them from events.
Honestly, I just figured she's be available for an event that would take place in December. Seems to be a pass for just about every month, so I figured her Prestige skin would be made available for a December pass. It's a good looking skin though, sucks I wont be able to get it; just like prestige Kai'sa. Oh well. I think it's impossible for me to grind enough for her now without spending a bunch of money for the orbs/points.
why am i supposed to read up? who makes a prestige store in game and then release a prestige skin that is not available from the prestige store it should have been obvious its been years since i made a purchase and the only reason i did buy the pass was to get the 100 prestige points it was only on the skin release i found out it was to be redeemed through tokens only what was the purpose of making a prestige store in the first place ??

Yes they gave a month in advance notice Prestige Qiyana was coming, what I didn't like was the fact that Tokens are earnable til 19th.. and the Prestige Qiyana Skin dropped on the 10th after the Opening Ceremony at Worlds (Live).
What I didn't Realized was that Yasuo, Senna, Akali and Ekko were getting a special chroma 300 Tokens each.. for the True Damage skin line. Riot made player choses do I grind and get this Prestige Riven skin or Prestige Qiyana Skin cause you couldnt get both without spending.
Not all the Prestige Skins, are for 100 Prestige Points which are earned in event passes or buying Masterwork Chests in Loot Selection in client Store.
Thats why I am disappointed cause I figure True damage were not getting Chromas like KDA didn't get Chromas from their Skins last Year.. Anyways back to grinding for tokens.. 700 tokens to go then i got all the True Damage Chromas..
No they didn't. Riot just said it once in a random post. And not everyone check these. Riot should definitely be more clear about their updates.
