A grain of sand is nothing more than a very small rock. So technically she can also bend sand, if she trains hard enough.

I think he can lift anything, water, air, sand, earth, buildings, humans (?). I think he has telekinetic powers but he prefers to use sand more than anything because it reflects his culture.

Actually... I think it is limited to sand.

Ascension usually gives you the godly powers you subconsciously wish for. Nasus and Renekton probably thought of their animal-headed gods and become like them.

Azir however holds the title "ruler of the sands". That's his job, his title and how he viewed himself when he ascended. So now he got to rule the sands quite literally. As a bonus he also got an animal head, because shuriman culture and stuff ^^

Considering the whole reason Shurima fell was because he hadn't done the whole abolish slaves thing early enough for Xerath to know about it before he utterly fucked everything up because of his anger of the issue, I don't know. Building an empire on slavery is building an empire that can easily be toppled.

I still think Azir isn't as nice to his ~~slaves~~ subjects as people think. He's not a monster, but he probably rules with complete control. Yes, he is making the area better, and yes, everyone will benefit, but there's still a difference between forcing people to do stuff and inspiring them to want to do it.

That's hardly new in Runeterra though, and not even really frowned upon. Demacia and Noxus both have absolute leaders, Ionia is ruled by elders, and so on.

While monarchys and single-person rulerships are the norm, there's a wide spread between a good one and a bad one. Demacia is a monarchy, yes, but not totalitarian. Power is shared, there is upward mobility, and the average citizen believes and trusts the king. I am not convinced that Azir's rule will have quite the same positive structure. I also don't think that the desert tribes will flock to his rule after living free for hundreds of generations.

As I said, there's a difference between inspiring people to work towards great things and forcing them to do it.

This makes me think about riven and Yasuo, like I want to know why the girl who wanted honor went and killed a village elder after she defected from noxus, did he catch her in the woods and know who she was? Did she go to him for guidance but lie about her identity and when he found out he assumed her a spy?

Maybe he was the traitor and she took him out for being a villain behind the scenes
