you are looking at your character in the same map saying random quotes (some specific towards others) that its a good idea to go the "dark souls" approach to lore and let players "speculate" what the lore is or more importantly why we should care about the champion we are playing
thats my two cents on it but nonetheless i still have hopes whenever riot does the big lore reveal heres hoping it blows my mind

I doubt they are actively going for a dark souls approach,I think this kind of thing happens accidently.
They do plan ahead when it comes to lore,they leave some things open to explore them later on(for example they probably already know how someone from azirs family managed to survive,otherwise they wouldn't even bring this point up,but they simply didn't reveal it yet). Its just that said exploration doesn't happen,because of the slow lore releases(and the fac that they still haven't managed to finish the retcons).
