Is there hoping that Evelynn is not going to get "Galio'd"?

Speaking on behalf of people like myself, who still care about Evelynn not only as a playable champion, but also as a character in League of Legends. Just looking at how Team Alpha completely remade Galio into something that could very well be a new champion, I am incredibly worried that the same fate now awaits Evelynn.

Many people who don't really care for Evelynn would've welcomed her being deleted and changed into something else, like Galio, but unlike him, Evelynn has a much bigger following, so I hope that Team Alpha would respect their interests too.

Is there hoping that Evelynn isn't just going to be replaced with another character?

Well from a visual standpoint she's pretty unique and not overly goofy so I think she'll be fine there. The ones who get strange and weird visual changes seem to be the more generic guys

Gangplank: went from a normal pirate to old pirate with a goddamn robot arm! Warwick: went from a normal werewolf to a werewolf with a goddamn robot arm! Sion: looked downright silly, was basically a reference character so they turned him into current Sion.

While the ones with more unique looks like Poppy and Ryze pretty much look the same just changed to match their new personalities. Because hammer yordle and blue guy with a giant scroll on his back are both already unique. So is blue girl with knives stupidly pointing at her inner thighs forcing her to walk like she's bow-legged. Though for what it's worth I hope they get rid of the inner thigh knives. She can keep the others around the outside of her legs if she really wants.

From a mechanical perspective Galio's theoretical core was area taunt, anti-magic, and ranged attacks. All of which were kept in a weird way. Some might say a more fair way, now that you can see the taunt coming. On that regard I'd expect the core mechanics of Eve to remain in some way: perma-invisibility and running around dealing damage. But they'll definitely be done differently. It's a rework after all.

From a personality perspective, anything goes. Riot likes to change things for the sake of changing them, sometimes. But I think we already have an Eve short story. So we already know her personality, roughly.

Yea I really like eve's kit atm..... It has a huge skillcap whilst being "Simple" as it is.

I'll make a C&C post with some ideas for the rework in a day or two. (Abilities?) I'll update if I remember xD

Overall I doubt that the changes will be that drastic to evelynns visual design and character. I mean Evelynn is a femme fatal and I really doubt this is going to change,so she is pretty much bound to remain sexy. Her hairstyle is also likely going to stay, because it is rather iconic for her(the way it looks in her safecracker skin is pretty much what I'd expect for her, heck it looks to me like riot already tried to find a way to update her hair to modern standards with that skin).

And she did get a lore piece for the shadow isles update and even though it is just a color text meant to be a bandaid for the time before her update,I assume that this piece is meant to remain her color text even after her VGU(maybe the description of her design will be altered upon release),so her personality and occupation is also likely going to remain the same(or at least very similar). I mean DrMundo and Rammus got full lore updates even though they are both on the list for a VGU,so its not impossible to update the lore before the actual VGU.

We know that they aim to make her less Diver and more Slayer. I'm predicting AD Bruiser Evelynn will cease to be viable, or at least have your team wondering why bother picking Evelynn to fulfill that role when other AD Bruisers do it better (see Vi, Hecarim).

I honestly haven't played Evelynn in a while. I got her up to Lvl 5 but stopped before they introduced the 6 and 7 Levels. I have never been a huge fan of the Slayer playstyle, so she will probably be too difficult for me to perform mediocre with (we won't talk about the Nidalee). It's why I decided to pick up Diana, seeing little reason to continue working on a champion that would inevitably and drastically change.

I know I will at least try a couple games with the new Evelynn to see if she still is a champion with a kit I enjoy and can somewhat function with.

They are keeping the Q mashing aspect of Evelynn's "Frenzy" in tact. It's mostly her E and R and passive that are being altered. Reds state that she is viable.

Evelynn's going to keep two things for sure: Perma stealth and sustained damage. I don't think she'll be healthy if she doesn't have one without the other, and the perma stealth is the most iconic thing about her.

I still kinda miss the days of extended stealth durations without visible ranges; it was really fun to scout as Twitch, walk into a bush with 5 champs, and nope out

I'm hoping riot won't screw her up, but every rework basically has a 50% chance to mess up the kit and a 50% chance to mess up the new look. I think the snowflakes want her to be deleted, but IMO she's not meant for them.

It ain't because Galio doesn't have a big following that he had to be deleted

Though I agree with you
