Vlad's story reminded of me the "Picture of Dorian Gray"
The way they are both immortal, seductive and like to make portraits of themselves. Did Blood Magicks got inspired by it?

I didn't write that story - Graham McNeill did, and it is superb. He had the idea long before he spoke to me.
I speculate the title is based on a quote by Oscar Wilde:
"Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life"
I felt the beauty of sorrow from Vladimir´s story coming from repression like slav art. However, I think that decadent art/”Fin de siècle(literally)” like Oscar Wilde's work go well with him too.
Vlad does have a lot of similarities to Dorian Gray, especially with the new development that he likes to show up and become a socialite noble from time to time.
