So will Karma's list of Updated Splash Arts come with an Update itself?
Fiora's update was rolled out one year ago, and it took one year for her to get all her splash arts updated.
Twitch is next with 5 splash arts. And given the art team took 1 full year to fully conceptualize how they wanted to present Nightraven and Royal Guard Fiora, I'm willing to bet that Twitches' update splash arts will take a good 4-8 months before its settled.
Karma has 3 splash arts that needs to be updated, and I'm guessing its a good 2.5 - 6 months.
So now, the main question is she going to receive an update along with the updated splash arts. Given the timeline we have now, we've got between 6 months and one full year to decide who comes next after Galio's update. I find it hard to believe that the team is just willing to roll out on updating Karma's splash arts, with Reav3 even mentioning the complaints were "loud & clear", but not even determining her gameplay update yet, because many months back when the subclass list was released, it was a general consensus that Karma was bland and overly generalized (even without resorting to subclass as a guideline or law).
When updating splash arts, typically Riot presents a champion in a manner that is unique and thematic to them. With no fans, little particles from abilities and a semi-complete dance to boot, how will Trad/Sun Goddess/Sakura Karma even be presented? It seems so impossible to even conceptualize an art now because to translate her abilities in to a form art itself is difficult. Plus, IF Karma's splash art is guaranteed to be next after Twitch, it's a good timing to get things clarified. Shouldn't Karma receive any accompanying gameplay update as well? So the next time some Karma players ask again, Riot doesn't have a reason to say they lacked time and will focus on other champions before getting back to her another round once more.
Annnnd, to add on, in terms of lore and voice, there are multiple paths to take Karma's story to, and expand her involvement in Ionia.
