The Fault in The New Lore.

If you can tell me how Sej and Teemo would ever be in a situation where they could have a conversation... Then I might just be willing to try this new Lore...

Sej who is isolated in the north, constantly warring(btw war is so boring) against Ashe's people. Teemo running missions in southern Valoran and rarely together with anyone.

As a I see it there are so many champs that will never EVER be anywhere near each other, much less have a bond of comradery that the IoW brought.

Sej and Teemo are just a crack pot example... but the point stands and there are others that will suffer.

The league and the IoW were interesting pieces to build story on or around. Riot claims that they were inhibiting their story process. What a joke. Welcome to runeterra, generic fantasy land, full of generic fantasy types who kill each other for generic fantasy reasons.

Way to take out the interesting political drama and champ interactions Rito.

I'm just saying... war is dull and has been done 1000 times in every form by so many kinda of fiction.

The IoW was something special. It was something that nothing else had.

It made even the angry character deep in that it allow for even the most flat line killer to be able to have a place they could talk.

The champions are separated neatly into their own little factions, they'll interact with the ones in their own faction, a little bit with the ones in whatever faction they're at conflict with at any given point in time and that's about it. The premise of Runeterra is incredibely generic and boring without the Institute of War. Now they'll have to put in a ton more effort to make their stories interesting enough to outweigh this, every single time. This effort would've been spent into writing with/around the IoW.

In the end, I see no increase in quality, merely certain types of stories being phased out (champions need a relation to a political power to be relevant in Runeterra) and new ones phased in (champions no longer need to join the institute). All that happened to me is that the premise is less interesting and Riot is apparently not above retconning major elements of their story (or characters, as shown by Trundle). With Trundle they lost my trust, now I wait for them to regain it, otherwise I won't enjoy the new lore.

Teemo had heard about Gnar, but he had never seen him -- after all, rumor reached Bandle pretty quickly these days with the stirring of the ancients. Gnar's story fascinated Teemo. An ancient of the Yordles reawoken from True Ice? Could he be like me? Could Gnar help answer some of the questions of my own inner demons?

If anything, Gnar's reawakening proved to Teemo that Yordles didn't come from Bandle City. They came from elsewhere.

Teemo set out on a journey to search far, far north into the cold mountains of the Freljord for answers. After a trek that seemed to take a lifetime, and faced with impossible obstacles, Teemo finally arrived at the snowy foothills, greeted by a statuesque woman atop a beast he had never seen before.

(You can decide how you want the conversation between Teemo and Sejuani to go. :) I have provided an example.)

Sejuani WHY ARE YOU HERE?????? Teemo o_O summoner 4 Sejuani O_o

I would love to discuss the riveting stories about the one to three sentences about everyone. Oh well, as Opeli stated, Lore was a convenience but now it is an inconvenience so now we don't need background stories, its all about brawling our brains out!

Or, the conspiracy would be that they would rather have us write out the Lore and then use it because it was apparently way too expensive (or child labor laws for Tryndamere's 7 year old son in writing class about Freljord prevented more extortion) to have people write more Lore, so they decided to scrap it all.
