Or not. They're playing a game of numbers, those interested in the old lore were probably few compared to the userbase and they perhaps expect to get way more with this changes. I can't really imagine a company going through such an obvious shitstorm without having taken some data and statistics to know they've got their backs covered, even though they denied being driven by surveys.
