What if the coming Gangplank rework...

... turned him more into a Davy Jones like character? (minus weird tentacles. That guy was once human too after all...) A man connected to the oceans in a somewhat supernatural way...

Now, before you start calling me crazy, let me explain this. We all know that our favourite pirate is getting a reboot and/or massive overhaul, so his theme shifting a little is something to be expected. Hell, I would LOVE to see him actually having a serious theme apart from the walking "yarr I'ma piRRRRRate!"- joke that he is now. I'm not saying "hey let's make him a spirit with magic powers". Nah, sailors and pirates are highly superstitious by nature, they wouldn't even get close to anything that even seems to be magical. In that case it would have to be a little more... subtle I guess.

How I get this idea? Let's take a quick look at Bilgewater. While the place is actually an anarchic union of independant islands there are two key figures that seem to hold some power: and . Important is here that they are total opposites, in both occupation and personality. So, if Miss Fortune is the human and (somewhat) law-enforcing side of Bilgewater... then what champion would be best to represent the rough and unforgiving ocean that is part of every sailor's reality? What champions fits best in the role of being uncontrollble and furious like an ocean's storm? (sorry, had to tune up the drama for this a bit)

The thing is: I can actually imagine Gangplank to fill that role. Or what do you guys think about it?
