Singed and Warwick have had a complicated relationship

Originally, Warwick was Singed's mentor, taught Singed everything he knew about chemistry. He became a werewolf during the Noxian invasion of Ionia when he and Singed were making chemical weapons for Noxus. Soraka cursed him, and he became the werewolf with an unending need for human flesh and blood. He became the blood hunter.

Then, when Riot rewrote his lore, Warwick became a hunter, a procurer of things. He was the best at it, but wanted to be better. So he had his friend Singed make him a potion. But it was short one ingredient: Soraka's Heart. He tried to get it but couldn't, yet he still drank the potion. It turned him into a werewolf, with heightened senses, but because it was incomplete, so was he. His human side slips further away every day that passes and Warwick becomes more feral, unless he can sate his thirst with Soraka's blood.

And in the newest lore, Warwick is some rando who Singed kidnaps off the street, tortures and warps with alchemistry to create a beast, a "chimeric predator"

Riot, while it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to pass judgment on the sort of character that Warwick will be, you have me disappointed at the moment. In the past, Warwick was always striving for something. He has always been my favorite character in the game, followed closely by Singed. When I heard that he was finally getting his long awaited rework, I was so excited. I could finally play my blood hunter again! The King in the Jungle had returned! But it seems to me that Warwick will go the way of Viktor and just become another written off character. He is literally a nobody, kidnapped and tested upon by Singed, who now is nothing more than a beast. An alchemical predator at that, not even a true wolf.

Warwick and Singed were friends! He was his mentor, his friend, and now he is nothing to him but a "failure [that] adds to a vast reservoir of knowledge"

Here's to old friends who are now no longer. Warwick Singed "Shaken not Stirred"

I agree that its kinda sad that warwicks character(at least his pre-transformation-character) gets completely rewritten so often, but I think that the final result will be more interesting.

I mean his previous 2 incarnations, didn't have that much going for them and were mostly about warwick being an evil bastard, who has beef with Soraka. The teaser on the other hand hints at him being transformed unwillingly and actually resenting his transformation,he even said that he was once a monster, but isn't anymore, implying that he went through some sort of redemption arc, which makes it all the sadder, that he gets turned into an evil beast against his will. And I think the struggle between bestiality and humanity was always one of the more interesting aspects of the werewolf, but if there was no humanity in the character before the transformation, then there is no real struggle.

I had to wait for the second part of Xerath 's story for it to even mention him being a magic user.

Let that sink in. "The Magus Ascendant" had zero references to being able to use magic. He should have been called "The Politician Ascendant" in that first part.

The second part was better (he at least could be called a mage, using magic on his own), but the lore I cared about was completely destroyed.

I don't think Warwick will be safe. The best you can hope for is that this random abomination is what inspires Warwick to come to Singed wanting the same thing done to himself.

While the new dynamic is certainly offputting i actually think the new warwick is probably someone important from Noxus who faked their death like the grand general.

I love warwick but honestly... the scientist that becomes a werewolf is so... bland, not to mention that we have Dr. Mundo who also is a scientist turned something... a hunter is also very boring and kind of predictable... now a person who was a stonecold killer who is kidnapped against his will and gets experimented on and finds some sort of redemption from the pain inflicted on him feels incredibly smooth and it also fills a niche that hasn't been touched in the game except maybe by Orianna but in very different light.

not to mention that this is barely the prologue to Warwick's real story so... maybe Singed in fact becomes close to Warwick somehow, after all he's the only one capable of understanding what's going on in Warwick's body
