If League had some sort of progressing plot line and they wanted to reveal things as time went on, I would understand. But Evelynn has been released for over 6 years now and we still know next to nothing about her. We know she comes from the Shadow Isles and that pretty much it. No explanation as to what she is or how she got her powers.
@Rito why do you feel the need to hide Evelynn's lore?

They don't have any lore for her because when it comes to lore the just don't care.

The reason is that when Evelynn was made they simply didn't know what to do with her.
"Mysterious past" was an acceptable backstory at that time.
Currently they are working on a VU for Eve,but they also said they are gonna redefine evelynn,because currently she is just an "evil blue skinned stripper",she doesn't have a definite archetype like the rest of the champs that makes her outstanding(I mean just look at elise,who is a red-haired evil seductress from the shadow isles,just like eve,but elise also has that spider theme to set her apart from everyone else)
However don't get your hopes up on a detailed backstory once her VU comes out. Champion lore tends to leave open a lot of questions nowadays,because it is more episodic than biographies.
She has a lot of potential, but Riot seems intent on leaving her alone. They intentionally didn't give her lines for capturing an altar on TT because they "didn't want to give away too much of her story" and "werent sure people would be interested in the tidbits of isle lore from the altars".
She has a lot of potential (Someone suggested her as an Avatar of Wrath on the wiki, which is actually a really cool idea) but so much lore is simply in limbo. After all, it's been almost a year (nine months) since they retconned the premise of their entire game.
