Is that a pattern? (regarding big place lore changes)

I've noticed a pattern on how they do the big lore changes from places, starting back in 2014 when we had the Shurima event, then the Bilgewater event on the last year, and now, the Mount Targon lore changes.

A new champion from Shurima (Azir) Bilgewater (Illaoi) Mount Targon (AurelionSol) has been released

A new champion NOT from Shurima (RekSai) Bilgewater (TahmKench) Mount Targon (not released yet) has been released, but this champion is somehow deeply tied to that place.

An old champion from Shurima (Cassiopeia) Bilgewater (Gangplank) Mount Targon (Taric) has been reworked and he/she also takes a major role on the lore

Lots of non-Shuriman (Khazix Fiddlesticks) non-Bilgewater (Aatrox Quinn Garen Malphite) non-Mount Targon (not released yet) champions have gained new Shurima/Bilgewater/Mount Targon themed skins

Is that an actual pattern or this is just a coincidence?

I doubt it. Targon didn't get an event, which is why we didn't get targon skins(also the fiddle skin came out much later, similar to the guardian of the sands skins for xerath, skarner and rammus,so it isn't even really tied to the event),its simple as that.

And it just makes sense for them to do a rework and/or new champion for a faction once said faction gets a lore update.

Also you kinda forget the harrowing event. Sure it took place in bilgewater, but it gave us the lores of the shadow islanders,so by that logic we would have needed a new shadow island-champion by now,but we didn't get one.

If as pattern you mean releasing champion and retconnecting already existing and dispersed champion somewhere then i can sorta agree.

If you mean about thematics then it is just a coincidence. Or else we will never get Noxus and Demacia theme.
