Swain, LeBlanc, and Vladimir Are the Evil Side of Noxus

I have seen many people say that Swain is trying to drive Noxus towards a more powerful position in the world, yet it seems like every time he gets new lore to represent him, it just has a ton of evil and foul magic surrounding it. I have seen many argue it is more LeBlanc than him, but I find that unlikely since Swain was once associated or a member of the Black Rose, a corrupt group of Noxians that manipulate the city from within to gain power. With the recent lore revelation of the Vastayas, it has been revealed that Swain was given Vastayan blood for some reason. Whether he obtained this peacefully or by force seems to be unknown, but, I mean, since when has Swain ever just asked for something without trying to manipulate everything so that he loses nothing and gets more than what the other side is willing to give him? In the old, retconned lore, Swain worked with LeBlanc to start wars and battles with Demacia just to gain power over the area. To all those people complaining about how Noxus is being portrayed as evil and Demacia is being portrayed as the good guys, please realize that this is all because of Swain, LeBlanc, and Vladimir (and Sion, although against his will, and maybe a little bit of Cass). Darius, Draven, Katarina, Talon, and, heck, even Kled are all the good side of Noxus that you all want to see. However, please realize that Noxus is seen as evil in the lore because Swain is the person calling the shots. Strength above all, sure, but Swain is literally sapping the strength from everyone around him so that Noxus basically becomes his personal taxi to the top of the food chain. Same goes for LeBlanc and Vladimir, they are just his companions.

TL;DR If Noxus is doing evil things and you guys don't want Noxus to be evil, realize that Swain and the Black Rose are the ones calling the shots mostly. In the end, nearly everything can be traced back to Swain and/or the Black Rose (or someone very closely tied to either of them that likely asked one of them for help).

Literally every day. There is something called trade or commerce. Many scenario's include an equal trade, or one that benefits both sides. Swain can't manipulate every situation to perfectly work out. He will lose battles. He isn't some greedy little shmuck who wants everything. He is power hungry but he can deal with not getting 110% out of every deal.

Swain worked with LeBlanc to start wars and battles with Demacia just to gain power over the area.

This isn't really a bad thing. If this makes Swain evil, than every country in the world is evil because every country had to at one point expand. The US of America would not have control over their land if they did not kill the natives, mexicans, etc. who lived there before. European countries fought for hundreds of years. African tribes have fought for thousands of years.

In addition, why the hell would you start a war with Demacia if you weren't looking to gain power of the area? For fun?

However, please realize that Noxus is seen as evil in the lore because Swain is the person calling the shots.

Swain does not call every shot. He has the highest position in Noxus, but he is not an all powerful tyrant. Other forces clash with his wishes and decisions. Strength above all is not an "evil" look at life. It is one that progresses humanity and moves it forward. It unfortunately also causes the weak, disabled, wounded, poor, and those aren't considered valuable, despite being valuable, humans.

Noxus is just another country that wants to grow and move forward. They are passionate and they deeply care about becoming a great nation to the point where their willing to use dark methods. In addition, Swain's magic is considered foul by Demacia, the same people who would consider Lux's magic foul. And Swain going to war isn't "evil". Swain is not evil for killing Demacians. Demacians too have killed Noxians. Swain isn't evil for being a military leader that causes mass deaths, any more than Garen would be evil for slaughtering dozens of mages and Noxians because he deems them evil.

I see it as Noxus has a super bad reputation from the outside for being very expansionist, large and the threat of invasion. But I also like how on the inside, Noxus is very accepting of other cultures in a sense, having extremely varied peoples as long as they uphold the Noxian idea of strength (I also think that they are a lot like the Mongols, where they take the most powerful of other invaded territories, such as politicians, warriors and probably mages, and have more of a "You can keep your culture and be yourselves, just show loyalty to Noxus" idea). On the topic of the Black Rose, I hope they go with what I interpreted from the old lore - Leblanc founded the Black Rose as a secret society to control all of Noxus and possibly the world hundreds of years ago and keeps herself immortal with her headdress, seeming sort of like our Evil Queen of League. She also becomes Swain's adoptive mother in a sense, raising him secretly to become the most powerful and wicked ruler of Noxus.

it's not the characterSwain itself who's important it's the statement he makes on his empire. a shapeshifting mage would have never been allowed on demacia's throne. noxus believes efficiency shouldn't come at the cost of denying opportunity.

PS: sion wasn't exactly the most tempered guy when he was alive. the loss of most of his brain cells probably didn't help that..

In original lore, Noxus do for survive and Demacia have some dirty of them. They have conflict in politics and they look shades of grey.

But new lore we seeing Noxus are fully evil. Demacia are all good and they become white and black.

By the way, I love original lore more than new things.

Keep in mid that Darius is Swain's right hand man. He killed Keiran for him and has allied with him on his rise to power. He might not be aware of everything Swain's doing, or he could just know a pretty powerful ally when he sees one, and respects his strength, regardless of source. I think that feels pretty in character for him.
