I have an idea why lore could be taking so long

On the riot games careers page there is a section for "Research and Development" http://www.riotgames.com/careers/32642

It's basically doing stuff to make other games in addition to league.

What if the reason lore has been taking so long is because they're trying to make a second game which is actually in the world of league, or a number of games in different areas of it? So that instead of reading up on the lore, we play through the lore ourselves.

It's probably not what's going on, but it would explain why all the narrative people have such high hopes for it, and why it's been taking so long.

I think I know the reason.

If an ape is set before a typewriter and mashes random buttons, he will eventually write all of Shakespeare's works. It'd take billions of years, but the laws of probability would eventually set in.

Now, since apes don't need to get paid (except in food) and Rito can use that money for e$ports, they decided to try that approach. It might take a year or billion, but hey... you can watch that flashy Lee insec for 135th time while you wait.

Actually sir, I would like to correct your false statement. Riot is currently using their advanced "Tools" that are being censored and hidden away from us-I mean you simpletons. Now these "Tools" might seem a bit crazy, but if you trust in the flying Urgot of MT. Ahri Bust then you will have faith in all that is holy.

Well, WHY is it a terrible idea? I'm for it, you can have your lore based game if you so choose to play it, but for some of us we would just continue to spend all our time on the competitive aspect. Two games for two kinds of people.

It divides the community, for one thing. Dividing the game is always going to be a bad idea, in my opinion. That's how franchises get convoluted and hard to follow. When the game doesn't line up with the other game, and the anime is also different, but not quite as different as the manga, that's how things get stupid. It dilutes the story and the characters.

This isn't Super Smash Bros. I want the lore to become tight and crisp, then stay that way.

If they make it a PvE style game like an rpg or a brawler or even a spectacle fighter, how would that divide the community?

Also considering they've seperated the game League of Legends from the main canon in the sense of "the gameplay isn't canon", it's not actually hurt by other games. Hell they can even monetize off it by making skins based on stuff that happens in the lore or something.

It means that there are several different groups of people that are interested in the same characters and lore, but they don't interact. That's what I mean to imply. I call that a community division.

Regarding your second point, I am among the camp that hates the new lore. I wish they wouldn't have done that, and if they did it to make their MMO work better... I might cry a little.

Meh. I guess, but Some people would be fine with it dividing the community. It's just personal opinions honestly.

To be honest I somewhat agree with you. It wouldn't be my ideal situation either. I'm just grasping at straws that they really do have something that could be awesome planned, rather than sitting on their asses all day and arguing about whether shyvana's house is across from J4's or next to it.
