Because his new look is exactly what it should be. Nunu is the most childish champion we have. Annie is a very dark champion. Amumu is a cursed mummy. Lulu has Pix, which is a pretty dark figure once you realize how Pix kind of cheated Lulu out of her life with her family. The only champion similar to Nunu's childishness is Gnar, who can get pretty ferocious pretty fast. Nunu has always been the standard "a boy and his pet monster" aesthetic, and his new design is exactly that. However, I think people are going to think it's weird and childish and mark it off as bad and get angry about it (why though). Can we not call Nunu weird and childish in a negative way when that's exactly what he should be. Childish... and weird.

They aren't wrong to be upset, Willump looks nothing like the stereotypical yeti, however that all a yeti is, a stereotype. Personally, new Willump looks a lot more creative compared to old Willump. As many have pointed out Willump plushies and Nunu's hat will probably become good merchandise for Riot to sell.

You're right he is supposed to whimsical and childish and I really got that vibe from the leak. Another point was Willump not looking ferocious, I think its too early to judge how fierce new Willump is, based on the Aatrox rework its possible Willump could probably go from doggo to a mad beast during team fights vs just walking to lane. So I think there should be room for optimism, in terms of their personalities.

I LOVE his new look. The innocence portrayed in the teaser picture belies the monster that Willump will probably be, IMO.

You forgot to mention Zoe as a childish champion.

I’m not a big fan of that Disney world art type they gave Zoe and now Nunu. However, I guess having a very small pool of champions like that is fine.

I just hope they don’t turn league into Disney that’s all

I mean, it's whatever. Personally hate it, but I know others will like it so aye. Personally will only play it if one of the skins makes the character's voice less annoying.

Kinda hoping the 2 Nuni skins i have look amazing on the new version. Grungy is already cool i dont know how cool the new one will be. Workshop i never use on him so hoping that one looks even better

Annie is a somewhat dark champ but not VERY DARK because it isn't expressed well in-game. The VO can be passed off as how Zoe behaves.

This is pretty close if not on par with Warwick 's VGU in all honesty. They kept almost everything but changed it up to be modernized, made the two characters visually appealing and very unique that fits League's style, and .... I mean, they look very fun to play as.

Now i'm really excited in seeing how his skins look like. Really great job with this VGU Riot!

I always thought Nunu was just some freak accident character visually so this new champ visually is fantastic.
